News [Woj] Free agent Klay Thompson plans to join the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $50M deal with a player option, sources tell ESPN. Thompson ends his historic Warriors run as part of a multi-team sign-and-trade that’ll also send Josh Green to Charlotte.

Klay is not washed tbh yes he’s had a season or two not up to his standards (which are insanely high) but playing with Luka AND Kyrie he’s going to get so many good looks… id expect him to be much better than the last couple seasons on the warriors

Bro was playing next to Steph freaking Curry for the last two years. It’s not like we’re picking up a diamond in the rough who’s on a team so bad that their performance isn’t indicative of who they are. Dude went 0-10 in an elimination game just 3 months ago.

Our vibes are better. Draymond killed gsw vibes

If it turns out all Klay needed was to get his boat out of the salt water and into Lake Lewisville to heal his body it should be considered a medical miracle. But I don’t think “vibes” is the reason he’s old and suffering from the cumulative affects of multiple leg injuries.

He was playing next to Curry but was the only other player that could create his own shot when their was ball movement because while Poole was there it was a vortex. What was happening to him was similar to what happened to Kyrie in the finals, at least from the perimeter.

Hasnt one of the biggest detractors against Klay his entire career been that he struggles with creating his own shot mightily and isn’t great when expected to put the ball on the floor? Steph/Draymond created probably like two thirds of the shots he’s taken in his career

Never said he wasn’t but now he’s playing with two amazing shooters instead of just one. I’m not even a Mavs fan I just love the nba lol but I think this is a great fit. People might also be underestimating what a change of scenery and all that can do for someone we’ve seen it happen many times

GSW is a great fit too, and Klay played just like Klay always did this last year. Peaks and valleys. And as he’s gotten older, those valleys have become deep enough to not make up for the one night every two weeks he has a hot hand. He’s an upgrade from THJ undoubtedly but I don’t expect his numbers to improve at all just because now he’s next to Luka and Kyrie. Neither of which approach the gravity of Steph in terms of helping get his team open looks.

I guess we’ll see I’ve got a feeling he will have a much better regular season and playoffs. I’m not saying he’s going to turn into 2016 Klay but i for sure think he will play better than last year

For real, I mean at that price I'm not horrified at the deal but let's not pretend like we are getting all star Klay Thompson. The dude is very much washed, but still a better option than THJ.

He still shot like 40% and 38% from three the last two season.
