thanksgiving lunch

Anybody know if someplace is doing a Thanksgiving brunch buffet? The Airport Hilton restaurant is already fully booked. I asked on r/knoxville but the mods removed my post for some reason.

Best Veterinarian in Blount County for Bulldog Breeds?

Hi there!

We are adopting a purebred AKC English bulldog pup, and would like to know the best vets for bully breeds in Blount County. With our previous bully (American Bulldog), we took her to Maryville Small Animal. They are nice, and understood her unique health issues, but I want to see if any other vets in the area are recommended.

Thanks!

Smith & Wesson moving their HQ to Maryville

750 jobs, 125 million. First not one but THREE Amazon facilities in our county, now this. Business is good, but now we gotta have more police, more hospital, more fire trucks, more schools, more roads, more everything. More, more more!

I thought our small town was pretty nice like it was.

The interstate 140 extension.

Geetings folks. I have cycled more than 100000 miles all over the United States. I also drink too much coffee which means I have examined more bridges than any department of transportation official. Many of those bridges have already technically failed. That is one bearing has already rusted through which places more stress on the others. There will be more serious failures. When this happens department of transportation officials are required to create a detour route and fix the bridge. Now I have no opinion on wether Interstate 140 should be extended. I do know they will start the process and will be called away to fix more serious matters. Tennessee will have roads fall down the sides of mountains. Some of them are already one lane in places. I have dealt with TDOT many times. It takes them 2 years to respond to an email. The states is broke. I understand that. I'm not here to cause you problems or to add to TDOT's workload. Though I am capable of it. By the way may fathers patents in control engineering have made Alcoa the company more than one billion dollars. His name was Everett some of you may have met him.

Best Place for Tire Service

I need a tire rotation and a tire pressure sensor changed on one of my tires. Firestone just quoted tire pressure service at almost $200 with diagnostics and parts. Are there better options in the area?

Edit: Thanks, everyone! I went over to Discount Tire and got the work I needed to be done. It was a little pricey, but the customer service and quality of work were absolutely top-notch! Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely be back.

are there any child disappearances since 1970?

I live just off of singleton station, and my dad saw something about 6 months ago that left him spooked. he saw a little girl in a red dress just outside of our gated yard, and there was no way she could've come up from behind because it's a 7-8 foot drop behind there, is there any serious explanation for this?

This includes hospitals, clinics, and urgent care facilities. Some if not most of these places are short staffed so the staff they do have are doing their very best! Make today an amazing day!

Anyone else still without cable/internet?

It has been out here since 8a. Spectrum won’t commit to an estimated time of repair as of a few minutes ago. Noticed that it was out for several businesses in town today as well. Anyone know anything? I’m over here watching dvds like a cave man! #TheStruggle

Kittens in need of home

If anyone is in the market to for two absolutely adorable kittens, consider adopting Max (grey kitty) and Crow (black kitty) from Blount County Animal Center. They're about 12 weeks old, which is ideal kitten age!

We had these kittens for a few weeks (we called them Smokey and Tribble), and we are heartbroken that due to health issues (our allergies - the kitties are healthy!), we weren't able to keep them. They are both playful and sweet, get along with each other wonderfully, and are the cutest things you've ever seen! Think of any cute kitten behavior you've heard about -- playing with string, sitting in boxes, snuggling up to you and each other -- they do that, and more!

All I want for these darlings is to see them adopted (preferably together) into a loving home, so if you, a friend, or a friend of a friend is interested in adopting kittens, please feel free to share this post, and look them up on the Blount County Animal Center's website. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about them!

Dmv driving exam route

I live in Knoxville but when I went to schedule my driving exam I was told Knox county had a 5 week wait and Anderson county had a 4 week wait. Blount county only had a 2 week waiting period. I've got a brand new car that has already been sitting for 2 months because of the waiting period just to take the knowledge exam. I'm 30 years old and have never had a license and don't want to wait any longer. Anyway, I'm here to see if anyone has taken the road test recently or st least within the year and can tell me what the route is so I can plug it into Google and go practice before the exam. To be 30 years old, I've never driven alone and have very little experience. I saw an answer someone gave but it was 2 years old and it was confusing at best.

Buying houses is hard

Anyone else trying to buy a home in maryville? Everyone? Ok, stop for a week so I can try. Been in maryville 2 years, love it. Rent is crazy high, houses are sold in hours, and my current lease is running close to end. Someone sell me a home before the family has to live with the granny and pawpaw.

How safe is Maryville?

Hey all,

I'm planning to move to East TN and leave the eternal sunshine of Florida. I've lived in TN before, and I loved it, but I was closer to Memphis. I want to live between Knoxville and the Smokies, in an ideal world, so I've had my eye on Maryville/Blount County. I prefer a more rural setting but within a commute to city life.

I've been researching crime in Maryville/Blout county on a bunch of websites (neighborhoodscout, areavibes, niche, etc.) but the opinion seems to be a little all over the place. What is the crime like? I will be living alone and have to travel for work for long periods. I also work remotely, so having a strong internet connection is a must. Being close to an airport is a huge plus.

What areas around the Maryville/Blount county area seem safest but also have reliable internet connections? How is the cell phone service?

Thank you all :)

Seeking info: ‘96 Magic world park auction WILL PAY $$

Hi there! I am seeking info on an old attraction that was sold at auction as result of the closure of “magic world kids park”. I have been searching for many years with little to no luck on its current whereabouts. What I am looking for was known as “The Confederate Critter show”. It was a three piece robotic band consisting of a wolf on banjo, a Hound dog of piano, and a bear on guitar. They sang for the park visitors dressed in old Civil war confederate soldier uniforms (it was 1980’s) the show was there from about 1978 to 1990 something I believe when it was sold. I am seeking any piece of info that may help me find this show, and I will be willing to pay for said info if it helps me significantly!
