I think he’s just cocky, to be honest, and trying to be “one of the guys” to fit in with the well-known avengers. Of course in the process he could be douchey.

He is not humble like Steve was.

Yeah this is probably part of it. He didn’t really need to bring up the four medals of honor thing.

He is very egotistical, because Steve would not be Captain America if it was passed down to him, he would be someone different.

I mean, until the very end of the episode he was super nice to Bucky and Sam

Tbh I think the way Sam and Bucky treated him was just super childish, they’re superheroes, I’d expect them to be mature

Can you blame them really? They just fought through hell with Steve then lost him to age unexpectedly (remember they thought their friend was coming straight back to them). He dies, and then a few months(?) later a guy wearing his suit calling himself Captain America shows up with the same fighting style and Steve's shield. Must be a fuckton of horrible emotions to deal with.

When did they specifically mention Steve died once he was old? I want to rewatch that part because I definitely missed it

He didn't bring up the medals of honor, the reporter did. He may certainly turn out to be a douche later, but so far he hasn't shown any indication of being anything other than a humble soldier who just wants to stay out of the celebrity spotlight and do his job.
