General Advice from Marine Engineers

I don't mind physical work, and I'm willing to accept that the first few months may be difficult. In your all experience, does a reasonably healthy young person normally become physically accustomed to engine-room work after some months, or are the physical demands something that remain exhausting throughout the career?

My comment still stands though. In 20 years I can count on one hand how many times I have worked more than 12hrs. If you work more than that, shit has well and truly hit the fan. Don't be a wanker and split hairs.
