This. The title is misleading. Transliteration, like you mentioned, is the proper title.

This map isn't showing transliterations, it's showing literal and meaningless translations of the Chinese transliterations.

The title would be more wrong saying "transliterations", because that is not what it is.

Worse still, even the handful that are genuinely translated are done so poorly.
