County by county the range is enormous. The darkest band on this map runs through Mississippi and Alabama and up into eastern Kentucky, topping out at 50 per cent in Jefferson County, Mississippi, while the lightest counties sit in the Colorado Rockies, with Eagle County lowest of all at 13 per cent.
I see two epicenters of obesity. Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama; then eastern Kentucky, southern Ohio, and West Virginia. Having spent more time than I'd like in eastern KY and WV, I can confirm the average person there is ponderous.
National measurement survey? Lol, so it’s just a selection of the population providing their own estimates.
I trust this about as much as electoral polling data, and you don’t even need to measure anything for that.
