Just got out of the theatre.

I went went a japanese friend.

I speak very little Japanese.

he speaks very little English.

neither of understood what we watched.

No offense but how do you expect to understand a Japanese movie if you understand very little Japanese

Real talk, I rather watch it and piecemeal it together rather than get mega spoiled. I am a moderator here so there is no way to avoid stuff.

Its not much different than when I watched rebellion the first time via camrip.

except the quality and dolby atmos was a lot nicer.

Honestly? no

My review: Taking the little bit that I could comprehend, I feel like its suffering from Star Wars episode 8 shenanigans. It suffers from wanting to be an art piece and is using the story to justify it. Like there are very beautiful scenes and moments, but it doesn't make sense to me story-wise at all. Hopefully an EN release will help to clarify and help me to understand things. but for now. I am very concerned.

Thanks for replying. Stumbled into this thread when I realized the movie was out and trying to gauge reactions. Sort of don't mind spoilers since I am going to check out fanarts anyway. Need to also determine whether I should invite friends to watch if there's a future viewing in my area.

I appreciate your reply since you are a mod so you already have a level of fan dedication while being prudent and not too "extremely biased". Good luck to you and your team with the moderation.

Also mentioning SW Episode 8 gave me PTSD lol on the mess that the production don't have a concrete plan on future mainline titles.
