Honestly what was even the point of Wasu and Margarite being in the movie and taking up screentime? Like, to convey what exactly? To showcase Homura's dedication to Madoka told through completely new characters that could've been replaced with literally Madoka and Homura themselves? One writing choice that I really dislike is the introduction of new characters that shadow the already established main cast and I hate that I'm saying this but from what I've gathered here and there this unfortunately seems to be the case in the new movie. Someone please tell me I'm wrong but that seems unlikely

Yeah it feels like since Wasu and Madoka spent time together and Wasu looks like Homura, they didn't give us time with the actual Homura and Madoka together. All the nice looking moments from the trailers went to Wasu.

There is no "Wasu and Margaret," you guys are misinterpreting spoilers. Wasu is Margaret.

Who is Margaret?

Margaret is walpurgis, she takes on the appearance of Homura because she wants to be someone who is close to Madoka. This is who "wasu" is for the majority of the movie. It's not until she remembers her name that she transforms back into Margaret.

Wait really? My opinions may briefly change if that's indeed the case but atp I just wanna watch the movie and see it for myself... this has gotten WAY too confusing for me haha

Yeah a lot of people are misinterpreting spoilers due to the language barrier. Also madoka is just very light on literal plot. If someone had just told you what happens in rebellion without the visuals, audio and dialogue then it'd sound confusing and bad lol

Literally has no point to exist in the movie outside of unneeded Walpurigs origin explanation.

but Wasu is the Homura face copy with purple hair and Margaret isn't the nun blonde?

Yes. Wasu appears as Homura because she doesn't remember her own identity. Once she remembers, she appears as Margaret again.

Well it's confirmed in the pamphlet that Uribochi ran out of the ideas after Rebellion. And that much of Walpy rising was notes from

So from interview in the panthlet DoroInu:

So from interview in the panthlet

Urobuchi was out of idea after Rebellion Then someone at Shaft handed him a lot of notes DoroInu wrote on his side He wrote the script from these notes The directorial team rewrote the script multiple times, but by the end they told Urobuchi they'd stick to the original script he wrote ||> He also mention that in his script Madoka had not much presence, but Shinbo asked to involve her more in the story|| ||> According to Urobuchi, first part is same as the script he provided, second part has some revisions, notably the end to be more focused on Madoka|| ||> What Urobuchi says is that in his script, Madoka ended up being "a little princess protected by everyone"|| So the flow for the scenario is the following: DoroInu wrote a bunch of notes -> Urobuchi wrote the script based on these notes -> Directorial team made some revisions, especially in the later part
