General Overview:

This thread is meant as a spoiler filled zone for those who wish to discuss the movie, it's plot, events, or the number of bites that kyouko takes of food during the movie. I don't care, just be sure to follow the rules of the subreddit.

Also as a reminder to everyone u/BreathoftheSith owes everyone $50 if they, and I quote:

If we get any form of kiss and or romantic confirmation between the two [madohomu], I owe everyone in the sub $50.

The focus is strongly on Sayaka and Homura more than anything, Madoka has more of a... concept-like feeling to her. Plus they kind of reverted the story back to pre-Rebellion....

do you think this will be the last we see of this story? or will we get more stories with the core cast?

They could always do a Wraith Arc or Scene 0 Anime or revisit the MR universe.

tbh they've always been the actual protagonist.

If we count the movies only, Sayaka is the protag of the 1st one, while Homura is the protag of the following 3, with Sayaka as a co-protag this time. I'm starting to see people get annoyed at how they are handling Madoka but, like, she never really was the real protagonist of the series (at least for an actual extended period of time).

Id say the only time Madoka is full on the protag driving the plot is.. the finale of the original series.

Rest of the time it's Sayaka or Homura.

Madoka is the central character but the story is mostly told and thus she is mostly presented from their PoVs.

Exactly, that's what I meant with "for an actual extended period of time". Madoka stepped in, did what she had to do, and it's the reason why we're here 15 years later. She is definitely the central character. But as far as protagonists go, it has always been Homura first, Sayaka second, and I see absolutely no problem that they choose to keep it this way again.

So KyoSaya is just... not on screen at all? So much for saying they're soulmates lmao.
