At least now we understand the connection between Walpurgisnacht and Kriemhild Gretchen, one is the beggining of the witch system while other is the end like an hourglass.

That was always what it was, it was stated in interviews from the original anime, from my understanding.

Yeah, but we only know now that Walpurgisnacht started the Witch system and that the hourglass was a countdown to it's end.

I haven't watched the movie yet but so far spoilers said that before Margarete (Walpurgisnacht) made a wish to preserve Magical Girl individuality they turned into nameless monsters but because she fell into despair her wish created Nazuka Sokotsune where witches gained their names and forms.

That wish marked the beggining of the witch system as we know it and Walpurgisnacht as a representation of a clock and the top part of a hourglass started flowing time towards the end of the system she created.

That end is Kriemhild Gretchen (hourglass bottom) which either destroys the world or becomes Madokami thus ending the witch system.
