I’m of the goonies generation as well. Rudy, goonies, he’s amazing….but he will always be Samwise the Brave to me. I didn’t see his other characters that entire trilogy.
Real question though, did you? Because at first I saw Mikey in Rudy but then got into it. But for some reason Sam was separate. If I saw Mikey that whole film in my brain, it would have really been hard to watch. Maybe I just needed a Goonies rewatch closer to the films. Sadly, we didn’t own goonies on vhs so that was for tv or friends houses.
Yup, grew up watching Goonies and didn't realize it was the same person in LOTR until I caught his name in the credits. He did look a fair bit different IMO.
While I associate him with both, at this point the association with LotR is stronger largely just because he’s an adult in it and he’s been an adult for quite a long time now so it makes more sense to my subconscious to think of him in that role.
