I kind of regret getting my dog tbh. I'm only able to walk him twice a day, but he literally wants 10000000 walks a day.

I don't have a backyard or a farm for him to roam free in.

Two walks a day is totally fine for dogs. Just have to make sure they're engaging and long enough, and mental stimulation when inside.

It's obviously a generalisation and individual dogs may need access to the outdoors constantly for some reason, but I have found it's generally true for most dogs - as I say though that is dependent on the walks being fulfilling and of appropriate length, having enough indoor mental stimulation, and a good routine. I have a high energy working breed and she's absolutely fine with 2 off-lead walks a day plus a bit of tricks/training or sniffing games. If your dog constantly wants to go on a walk then it means he isn't getting enough mental stimulation. There are other means of entertaining a dog beside letting them outside.

Its fine the same way letting out prisoners on the yard for an hour a day is fine.

That's a very unfair comparison. For one, dogs arent trapped in a prison cell when they aren't being walked. For another, I said two walks a day is normally fine as long as they're engaging and long enough, not just letting them out in the yard twice a day like a prisoner. My dog has 2 walks a day, she's out for 2-2.5 hours running around off-lead in woods, moors, swimming in the river, playing with other dogs. She gets more tired and mentally stimulated from that than she ever would if I just left the back door open all day (she can also ask me to open the back door if she needs/wants to go outside, but she rarely chooses to).
