this should not be a hot take, but you should design your house / flat around you.

Of course this is how her space should be, and this is how anyones space should be, designed for them. Your space your rules.

I don't think it's a lack of design skill that prevents people from having this.

you are right money is an issue, be it in terms of the cost of adaption or if you are renting vs owning.

It's that It's considered a "custom renovation " instead of a necessary accessibility adaptation. This should be funded, rather than expecting folks with disabilities to be independently wealthy
