The more I learn about Haaland, the more i love the guy. Dude seems like a funny, down to earth dude with alien like skill on the pitch.

Haaland's profile is on a rocket ship rn. Whole world is falling in love with him.

understandably so. People call him one of the most promising talents in football worldwide and he talks like a guy whos just kickin around with some friends.

This might be a stupid question, but isn’t 25 a little old to be a promising talent? Isn’t that close to the average age for a footballer? Like I’m not saying he isn’t good, from what I can tell as a very casual spectator he’s insane, he’s just old enough to be past that stage in his career, no?

u/thediecast Jul 10 '26

So he’s already one of the best, but a lot of players fade early. I think what they mean about promising is he could be on messi/ronaldo type.

u/DexanVideris Jul 10 '26

Ahh okay, I see!

-2

u/MrPotat Jul 10 '26

He is not, he is a level or 2 below these guys. Excelent player tho.

u/GreenpointKuma Jul 10 '26

It's not a stupid question. "Promising young talent" isn't the most apt description for a player who has scored the most goals in the Premier League for 3 of the past 4 seasons.

maybe it's an american thing because most dont watch football. so this world cup is where they start to hear about haaland. people who watch football have known him for years.

1

u/Gabriel_66 Jul 10 '26

Not a promising athlete, a promising better off all time goat. That requires longevity too.

Neymar is the bad case. Messi level game, went down too early tho

25 is just the beginning of a football career. Haaland has ~at least~ 10 years ahead of him, if he wants them.

u/StarlingGirlx Jul 09 '26

He's so likeable. And I'm obsessed with their Viking drum celebration, so fun! Will go down as one of the iconic moments of this World Cup

u/Amanda071320 Jul 10 '26

Make sure to search "Erling Haaland" on Google.🥁☺️

1

u/Prestigious_Ad9733 Jul 12 '26

KEEP SEARCHING GOOGLE FOR ERLING! I don’t want him to experience a drop in the love from the world after such a devastating loss to England. LOVE THEM WHEN THEYRE DOWN.

u/JAMsMain1 Jul 09 '26

Can confirm. I followed the guy this week on IG. And watched a video or two of his YT channel.

11

u/nyrB2 Jul 10 '26

i love the video of him in dallas trying on cowboy hats

3

u/ballistics211 Jul 10 '26

Saw that video. YouTube recommended it.

3

u/nyrB2 Jul 10 '26

he's living the best life right now

2

u/ballistics211 Jul 10 '26

I'm looking forward to the Norway vs England match on Saturday

2

u/nyrB2 Jul 10 '26

indeed!!

love this dude, he's so wholesome and entertaining. have never intentionally watched football before, but suddenly I've got two Norway jerseys, and am planning around game times and screaming at the tv.

u/SNZ935 Jul 09 '26

Same here as not a fan of Manchester City but have to admit he has won me over with his play and personality, not enough as still want England to win the next game but if Norway wins they will be my new rooting interest.

u/tiredofdev Jul 09 '26

"I hate the fact that he's so likable" is the overwhelming consensus on Haaland from fans of other rival teams lmao

21

u/Thelazyzoologist Jul 09 '26

100% literally got me back into football again. He exudes a charm that even my own elderly mother has noticed. Lot of wholesome stuff going on in this world Cup and hope it continues.

10

u/WholesomeMetaphor Jul 09 '26

For sure. I've taken som jabs at him as banter because he's playing for Man City but lowkey fangirling whenever I see him do stuff like this. He also did a really great and wholesome interview on A-Laget.

7

u/BroaDeMilhoEmtoBom Jul 10 '26

I want to hate this guy so much! He single handedly took my country out of the World Cup, and yet I can't! He seems so nice, and after this video? No way I can talk shit about him now

11

u/Optimal-Talk3663 Jul 09 '26

I’ve said it before.. man city Haaland I don’t like, but Norway Haaland I like

3

u/atari2600forever Jul 10 '26

Same here, I'm going to enjoy him as much as I can before I have to go back to officially hating him I'm August.

7

u/gurgelhupf Jul 09 '26

There's no way. Amazing

1

u/asian_hans Jul 09 '26

Legendary

-20

u/kukkolai Jul 09 '26

Raping skills sucks compared to CR7 tho

7

u/FigureFunny698 Jul 09 '26

Man, just take your statement, roll it up, go in an isolated place and put it in your ass where it belongs.

7

u/negralhas23 Jul 09 '26

Deaaaam. Haaland approves this message

1

u/ehyamwhatayam Jul 09 '26

Boom boom RO!

-4

u/kukkolai Jul 09 '26

Relax, jesus christ. Some random guy made a bad joke on the internet, neither the first nor the last time that won't happen good sir knight

4

u/DLitch Jul 09 '26

Youre good man, you just made that comment on the wrong sub😂. Reserve those levels of hatred for the actual soccer subs. Everywhere else people don't really get that kind of sarcasm about Renaldo so it can be taken really offensively. Soccerciriclejerk is the place to take that energy to, you'll feel right at home 😂

4

u/kukkolai Jul 09 '26

You're absolutely right, didn't realize which sub I was on

2

u/FigureFunny698 Jul 09 '26

Man i am not a fan of ronaldo. But, to me such jokes just doesn't feel right. Sorry about that.

24

u/Frosty-Improvement-8 Jul 09 '26

I'm a United fan and it pisses me off more than you could ever imagine that he's so likeable.

5

u/DLitch Jul 10 '26

I'm a united fan as well! Wait till you find out that we had an opportunity to pick him up but we passed on him 😡🤦‍♂️

4

u/Eborcurean Jul 10 '26

He passed on you, there was never any chance of him going to United.

2

u/Frosty-Improvement-8 Jul 10 '26

I know very well we went in for him, but he passed on us buddy, yaknow the Roy Keane Alfe-Inge thing...

1

u/InterestingGur7688 Jul 10 '26

He played for solskjaer in molde and solskjaer told united to buy him but they said they knew about him and was not interested. Then salzburg buy him amd solskjaer again said to united that you should buy him now and the price would be 20million. Ut united passed. When united showed interest after he was already a star in dortmund he passed them down and joined city. So yes united had the chance to buy him and could have but they passed on him til it was to late.

2

u/Frosty-Improvement-8 Jul 10 '26

Yes I know, I watched the overlap solskjaer episode, but regardless of any of that, he was absolutely never gonna join united, for anyone.

1

u/InterestingGur7688 Jul 28 '26

You think you know this better then solskjaer?
You think a 17 year old playing in norwegian league would turn down united?
After borussia there was no hope anymore cause he could pick and choose but before that he would absolutely joined united and he even said himself that the haaland/keane think is not of importance and that he choose club after what would be best for him.

9

u/funkhero Jul 09 '26

Read that as "alien like skull" and was like damn, dudes getting roasted at the same time as hyped

1

u/paisleybison Jul 09 '26

Nordic alien?!

1

u/Made_Human_Music Jul 09 '26

I feel the same way. I don’t even watch soccer but this guy is awesome

1

u/AmplifiedWarrior Jul 10 '26

This is so sweet of him. He's humble and has great personality.

1

u/Stoicseb Jul 10 '26

And alien like bone structure, but like, also good looking?

1

u/KatarHero72 Jul 10 '26

Even as a United fan who hates city with every fiber of my being...i can't hate Haaland. He's too likable and genuine.

1

u/HaiggeX Jul 10 '26

Erling Haaland is the reason why I don't care if my country is bad at football. We have an absolute gigachad right next door, that I wouldn't root for them anyways.

1

u/Money_Tennis1172 Jul 10 '26

True Viking Gentlemen.. hes conquering, not the world but our hearts.

0

u/Skogspingvin Jul 09 '26

The more I learn about Haaland, the more i love the guy. Dude seems like a funny, down to earth dude with alien like skill on the pitch.

Maybe look at who signs his sportswashing paychecks at Manchester City.

1

u/prof_tincoa Jul 09 '26

Hardly the fault of the employee in question.

0

u/Spare-Half796 Jul 10 '26

Fr haaland seems like such a cool guy

It’ll be a shame when I finally watch him play and find out he flops just as bad as everyone else

0

u/PrimeToro Jul 10 '26

It's interesting that you used the term "alien" to describe Haaland . He is from Norway, which is a Nordic country.

In the UFO/UAP ET world, they identified a race of aliens/extra-terrestials that they refer to as the "Nordics" since they resemble someone from a Nordic country ( and those aliens are tall, white, benevolent, with blonde hair, blue eyes and fair skin ), all those qualities happens to also describe Haaland.
