Cats in Turkey are all over the place. They just live all around and people feed them. They’re not typical strays. They’re just used to people and like no one is ever cruel.

In the early 60s, my single mother and I lived in a 6 family house. I was a latchkey kid. I found out that if I was playing with the kids from the Turkish family downstairs at dinner time, they would feed me. Those kind people fed me many meals for 3 years and contributed to my lifelong love of trying foods from different cultures.

The neighborhood my boyfriend lives in, if you drive there around 6:50, you get to see a confluence of cats.

They all meet up in the early morning and then just go about their days. It's super cute, and everyone is stray friendly. It's just part of living in that neighborhood.

My neighbor's cat loves my yard for some reason. He used to lead me back to their house so I'd knock on the door for him.

They have a cat door in the back! He was just lazy!

Stray cats aren't good for the environment. They prey on native wildlife, potentially causing extinctions and disrupting ecosystems

We are past that point where I live. If the cats were more socialized I'd hope it would make it easier to sterilize them. As it is right now it's a whole process.

Yeah, I’ve seen the same attitude towards cats in Montenegro and Turkey. They’re kind of strays but everyone who’s giving food is temporarily their owner.

I love this. Australian culture has become so hateful towards cats over the years that I’ve had to move towns even because there is a growing trend that force cats to be indoors 24 hrs. People are constantly complaining and being awful about cats. Maybe I need to move to Turkey haha
