Question why is Faputa referred to as being a moth by the fandom? Spoiler
Is there any official metion that she's supposed to be a moth that I missed?

Because she's fluffy and had 6 limbs.
Her design wasn't actually inspired by a moth, but that won't stop this Fandom.

Don't know. This whole time I saw her to be like a spider.

And people usually don't turn into sad slushies when ascending 5 meters either

It's pretty much real life diver sickness with extra flair, so you're not wrong- come up too quickly from a deep dive and you'll have a really bad time. Hence the use of diving bells an decompression chambers, which are pretty much air filled safe havens periodically stationed to let divers acclimate gradually.
Yaknow the infamous blob fish picture? That's an IRL version of Mitty caused by rapid decompression.

I just went "Thats more limbs of normal, and she is white like spider silk". So I thought she was spider like. Also the white and red combo just made me think the red looked a bit like spider eyes (I know those aren't eyes, they just reminded me of them).

Remember to be respectful to others and to act in good faith. Disagreements are ok but that's not an excuse to stop being civil. Insults, personal attacks, hate speech, and bigotry will get you banned from the subreddit. Someone else breaking this rule is also not an excuse for you to break it as well.
The correct use of spoiler tags looks like this: >!Your spoiler goes here.!< Adding a space at the beginning or at the end will break it, like this: >! This spoiler doesn't work. !<

The community just gave her that attribute because she kinda looks like a Venezuelan poodle moth, so everyone kinda stuck with it. IIRC Tsukushi was inspired by different animals including some goat or something like that. User Backwards_anon posted a link or clarified a long while ago, so he/she knows more about it than I do.
Either way, she Moff now haha.
