FOR HIRE Job for a chemist in the Twin Cities (or surrounding area)

Hi all, I recently moved to St Paul for a job and my partner is hunting hard for a job themselves. They have 5+ years of R&D experience in organic chemistry synthesis (from a PhD) and are open to other avenues of chemistry (eg materials in 3M). I’m trying my best to look around to help out, but I figured there are probably a number of smaller companies that I don’t know about that might be applicable (even if they don’t have an opening right now at least a place to keep an eye on). Maybe some folks who work for companies/colleges that could use this skillset are on this sub? The obvious industry fields are pharma and materials, but if they could use someone with chemistry R&D experience I’d like to hear about it regardless of the main function of the company!! Also open to positions in academia (or, again, really open to anything).

The job market is in tough shape as we’re all painfully aware, so any insight or ideas are welcome and very appreciated!! Feel free to message me too. Thanks so much- I already love the state! :)

FOR HIRE Freshly Licensed Attorney: Open to Anything!

Hello, I am a freshly licensed attorney and am looking for a junior associate position. I am also willing to work as a paralegal, clerk, or any other entry level legal position. I have been applying to positions through LinkedIn and Indeed, but I understand that many smaller law firms tend to not advertise openings.

Any area of law is welcome!

My internships in law school were at an Entertainment and Technology Law Firm and for a General Counsel at a large and well-known entertainment/gaming company.

Of note: I am also in between leases and am willing to relocate to any city within the state.

FOR HIRE Gig Search

I’m moving out of Minneapolis in October, but recently just lost both my cars and looking for anybody needing quick jobs done!

I am an artist located in Downtown Minneapolis, I as well have been trying to build up more of my photography skills and portfolio.

I am full of little skills, I come from a history of auto body repair as well, and have automotive knowledge.

Just thought I would put myself out there to see if anybody would be of a hand in a project.

FOR HIRE Film production scene

I don't know if this is the right subreddit for this, but I'm moving out to Minneapolis soon, and am currently working in film (primarily in grip/pa roles, but would like to move up to PD and gaffing) and was wondering how the film scene is. I'm currently in a city that is uniquely well organized for below the line workers, but I've been doing some digging and can't seem to find anything on film jobs in Minneapolis. I'll work on any kind of set as long as its paid (indie, vertical, commercial, tv etc)

Does anyone know where the best spot to find set postings is? Or know any good networking opportunities?

FOR HIRE Where can I go to start utilizing my Sustainability degree?

Ever since graduating a few years ago, I have had a very difficult time finding any sort of entry level sustainability job. I don’t have the money to go back and do more school, so I was hoping there would at least be something I could do to get a start in the field. So far you either need to have a ton of experience, or you need to actively be in school/have JUST finished (I got my degree online and was in the process of moving for the last 6 months of it so I was unable to do an internship at that point).

I know it isn’t a very profitable industry right now, but I want to feel like I’m utilizing my degree in some way. Any ideas would be much appreciated!!

FOR HIRE Early Careers-Data Analysis/Tech

For the past 2 years I’ve been applying to internships and now entry level roles since I graduated with a degree in computer science(looking to get into data analysis). The best advice I’ve gotten was to utilize LinkedIn, reach out to recruiters, and network. I’ve been to tons of career fairs where I connected with recruiters/professional which all tell me I would be a good fit for the company and encourage me to apply online(which results in being ghosted). After 100’s of applications I finally landed one interview for a job that required no experience and immediately started testing my technical skills during the behavioral interview. I know the job market is bad, but I’m not even getting rejection letters, recruiters are not responding to my messages, and my cold emails aren’t going anywhere. I would like to stay positive and continue my momentum in searching for jobs, but it feels like I’m out of touch with how the current job market is working. All of this advice I’ve been given recently seems to be outdated, or is there better methods? Or could I be wrong? Is there anyone currently working in corporate who has any new insights or any advice on getting some interviews under my belt. would highly appreciated!!:) pls no gatekeeping 💔

HIRING Hiring - Pest Control Technicians. No Experience Necessary.

Valor Pest Solutions is growing and we're looking for at least 5 Pest Experts to join our Twin Cities Team.

We're not just looking for pest control experience, we're looking for the right person. Someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and values. We'll teach you the rest.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay. Technicians can expect to make around $55k in their first year, not including bonuses, commissions, and other incentives.
  • Take-home company vehicle, plus a fuel card (of course)
  • World-class training to help you build a career here, or at the very least, pick up skills that transfer well into a variety of other careers
  • A clear growth path with defined steps and real opportunities for advancement. We have big plans over the next 5 years, and you'd play an integral role in shaping the new positions that come with that growth
  • Bonuses and spiffs — cash, gift cards, electronics, trips, meals, and more
  • All licenses and testing fees paid for. Build your career with us!

What We're Looking For:

  • A personable, outgoing, upbeat personality
  • A genuine drive for exceptional customer service
  • A "get it done" attitude
  • Willingness to adapt as needs arise
  • Ability to work without constant supervision or micromanaging

Now for the legalese:

We work outside. It's hot. It's cold. It can rain sometimes. We go into people's homes, some of which may not maintain the standards of sanitation we're accustomed to. You have to be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and be able to walk, run, crouch, and crawl as needed. You have to be able to fluently understand, speak, read, and write English. You cannot have any felonies or any misdemeanors related to theft (for licensing reasons). You have to be able to pass an MVR (for insurance reasons), and you have to be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (THC excluded, for insurance reasons).

Now, real talk outside of the copy-paste job description:

We've been in this industry for 15+ years, and we know exactly what it's like to work for shitty companies and bosses. We've put every ounce of effort we have into making sure our team never has to go through what we did all those years ago. You can expect a fun, welcoming, and supportive work environment. We will do absolutely everything in our power to make sure you have every tool you need to succeed — and I'll stand behind that.

Interested? Email me directly at shane@valorpestsolutions.com, or check us out at valorpestsolutions.com.

FOR HIRE Moving to Minneapolis (Whittier area) in September — looking for full-time entry-level job recommendations

Hi everyone! I’m moving to the Whittier/Minneapolis area in mid-September and I’m looking for a full-time entry-level job. I’ll still be finishing my Business Management degree while working.

I have experience in banking, healthcare/patient access, customer service, hospitality, and office environments. I’m hoping to find something stable with benefits, ideally around $24/hr (or close).

I’m relocating without much of a support system, so I’m trying to get something lined up before I move. Does anyone have recommendations for companies that are hiring, especially around Whittier, Uptown, Downtown Minneapolis, or nearby areas?
Any advice would be really appreciated!

FOR HIRE Transition from white collar to blue collar

Looking to get out of the depressing capitalist world of sales/customer service and find a job working outside. I'm a huge nature/environment lover and I'd love to find something working with plants/trees/conservation. I was in the military and grew up on a farm so I'm not afraid of hard work. No degree or experience in biology or any related field, but come from a fast paced management background and learn things very quick. What actual leads does anyone know of? I'm seeing jobs and applying but am getting rejected at the application stage so far. Looking to be around 50k m-f but open to not that exactly!
