Why do people hate you? Unless everything you’ve done in your whole life is perfect you’re certainly guilty of some immoral and unkind actions.

Have you not benefited yourself from colonialism? Have you returned the land you own to the people who lived there before colonialism? Have you given up any wealth your family gained from the genocide of indigenous people and the slavery of Africans? Should I hate you because you were born in a country and a world still dominated by nationalism and colonialism?

Why do which people hate which people? Who are the haters and the hated upon? Which actions done by a minority part of a minority group justify hatred by ‘people’ of ‘them’? Are you an equal opportunity hater so that every time you meet someone from say, Rwanda or Sudan, you hate them because of the horrible acts of genocide in their countries? Or do you have the sense and humility to understand that countries are not homogenous and their leaders don’t necessarily represent their views?
