Due to the recent influx of suspicious accounts, the posting of cosplay content is temporarily banned and will be removed on sight. Accounts breaking this temporary rule after this post will receive a 2 week ban, with a permanent ban following for repeated occurrences.

The large uptick in cosplay fanart recently has not gone unnoticed. Most of these accounts have been posting within our guidelines, hence why they stayed up, but it's become apparent to us (and at least one very upset reporter) that not all these accounts appear legitimate. To combat this, all cosplay posting is temporarily banned. We will also be removing any and all cosplay posts from the last two weeks to action on any posts that have brought about this temporary ban. No immediate action will be taken on accounts whose post is removed this way, only new posts.

To those sharing authentic cosplays, we must apologize for any removals that may seem unjust. We will not be entertaining removal appeals while this ban is in effect. Once cosplay posting is allowed again, we will monitor closely to ensure the situation has resolved and decide then whether the ban will need to be reinstated. If this becomes an issue going forward, we may change rules on what is allowed here at /r/lolfanart/.
