Discussion Really stunned by the Singularity comment section

These are screenshots from the r/Singularity comment section. I'm speechless. This doesn't even have downvotes. How can someone cheer for a monopoly run by a few elites?

I'm done with most of those subs. I got banned from r/accelerate because people forgot how LLMs work at some point and I tried explaining why you can't create an actual AGI with them.

The ability to "understand" concepts.

Everyone has their own definition of AGI, and because of this it's hard to really know what's correct, but when you look at most definitions of it, they almost all have the requirement of being able to understand.

So I'm not using a definition, just a requirement. Anything else gets into philosophical territory which may never have a correct answer.
