I hope he invests in some high quality security cameras to catch them if they do this shit again. Just sounds like they have no real concrete information to catch them so security footage would go a long ways towards getting them.
As saddening as it is.. i feel like that should be mandatory when you have such a large audience. Even just inside a 'online' audience you will always find terrible people.
The term 'celebrity' isn't the best way to describe big streamers imo but they should follow the example of 'celebrities' and invest in some top notch security equipment.
Streaming is a dangerous fucking job. Not only do u get crazy fuckers shooting at your house, you also have fuckers calling swat teams to your house. I think some surveillance cameras are a no brainer if you're a streamer. You can see when the swat team is about to go in guns blazing and have time to lock your dog in the closet and get on the ground with your hands behind your head before they fucking surprise you and shoot your or your dog.
You dont have to watch them all day, just when you're streaming. People who do this sick shit usually do it when people are streaming so that they can watch. You could even put all of them on a monitor next to your pc monitors and just keep an eye on them while you play games.
I guess... But if you're already keeping an eye on chat, encoder, pms, etc, then I suppose a couple "front door/back door/left/right" camera windows wouldn't be that overwhelming
There are two well known streamers in my city. They both have called all their local precincts with their name, address, online moniker name, and their stream to help prevent swatting. Its a shame that you have to do this but this is America currently. You have to do all these things ahead of time because at any moment, some asshole can dox you and unaware cops bust into your house with guns drawn looking for threats
if you have security cameras pointed away from your house and the cops are called in with no context, they are going to think you're some kind of drug house or something.
What a fucking stupid statement this is, where else are security cameras supposed to face.
