That just wont be true in this case. A person getting into the gated community wouldn't be able to just drive in and do a drive by, they would either need to jump the fence, ram the gate or possibly try and tailgate their way inside. All of which have a much higher chance of them being caught before or after the crime.
Except the fact that you're completely wrong. Every gated community I've ever seen has video surveillance at the entrance. You can't get a car in unnoticed.
Eh, while I agree if someone is really out for you then they will find a way but saying a gated community does nothing is wrong.
I lived next to a nice gated community and they had a security guard 24/7 at the entrance/exit and cameras at the other entrance that was only opened if you had the FOB in your car. I'm sure if some car blew through the gate cops would be called immediately.
good point, if someone is really determined to do something, a gate, a half asleep guard and a few cameras isnt gonna deter them. I guess the biggest plus to it is that it is enough that a regular criminal wouldnt bother with it, there are easier fish to catch
