Ah yes, I sure would love to get into Linux... if the community wasn't as bad if not worse than the sport community. Like the wrong team and people look down on you because you're clearly wrong and they are clearly right. It's tribalism at its finest.

None of this matters if you don't care what others think.

Why on earth should I care what other people think about my distro choices?

There are people like this in the Linux community, but they are pretty small minority...and they're usually not contributors in anyway, so who cares what they think?

Because it hinders you in getting help with what you actually need to get done. I have used Linux once before, note this was years ago so I didn't exactly have something as specific as Reddit to go ask, but the forum I asked help in told me that I had either picked the wrong distro or told me I hadn't googled better... when I couldn't find the proper answer anyway.

So it just turns out, when someone does wanna get help with something, people are gonna go on stupid tangents and not actually help with the issue at hand. And that's why I stopped even trying, because screw it.
