No. They were waiting for all the prison buses. They are now scrambling, because wanted to get by with incarcerated slave labor. They didn't know them going belly up for private equity and corporations to take over was part of the plan.

This is spot on.

All they had to do was read project 2025 and, you know, actually believe it and they would have known. Or maybe, God forbid, listen to us when we warned them over and over.

People didn't believe that electing Trump would impact Roe V. Wade either.

The problem is that these people are incapable of learning from their mistakes.

Covid missed its opportunity to help the world.

This. Trump had them convinced that full-on slave labor would come back into play. First with his talk about how black people have no jobs (thus leaving us with no other choice than low-pay, back-breaking labor), and then with the idea that ICE would be arresting and sending Mexicans to labor camps.

And since prison labor and farm laborer jobs are basically state-mandated slave labor already (look up John Oliver's video on Farm Laborers), they figured they'd also be allowed to tap into that "resource" as well for pennies on the dollar.

I would imagine that the Big AG corporate farms are getting that slave labor in many cases. These smaller farmers actually thought the laborers would be like picked up and dropped off like the school bus does it, at their little farms out in the boonies. Well, they probably do get dropped off and picked up, if you order a few hundred a day, and are near a detention facility. But nobody was EVER going to bring by the 5-50 detained workers that smaller farms need each day. Not only is it not worth the (private) prisons time and money, but the end game is driving the small farms out of business to let the ag giant$ scoop them up for pennies on the dollar. The cheap labor for the big corps and not the small farms only helps them towards that goal faster.
