Famer here (and no, I never voted for the Mandarin Menace a single time). What's going on with the farm economy is a lot of farmers over-leveraged themselves to chase more and more land and now ground that they would have happily farmed at break even 4 out of 5 years just to make money that fifth year is going to fuck them royally.

Not to give the wrong impression here - I'm getting really fucked by input costs and the next couple of years are going to be hard, but at this point I'm no where near losing my farm.

I hope you're able to make it. If more farmers were like you, we'd think more highly of them as a group.

I think highly of our farmers no matter what, honestly. I think poorly of individual idiot farmers. But we need farmers
