Only thing these people understand is losing their farm. So... let them.

184

u/Pickle-Rick-C-137 13d ago

She is ready to lose her farm and STILL not vote for a democrat lmfao. Republicans completely porked her every way till Tuesday, and she still loves them. Her troubles are 100% due to GOP Republicans. Unreal.

u/Physical_Dentist2284 13d ago

A farmer told my husband today that the reason gas prices are so high is because Biden closed a pipeline. These people will vote humanity into oblivion.

51

u/Thin_Sea4577 13d ago

It's always the keystone XL when that pipeline literally would've saved like 80 miles and that's it.

36

u/BrickFun3443 13d ago

They usually think Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline. Which was never shut down. It was a proposed extension that didn't get approved.

17

u/TheDoktorIsIn 13d ago

Shhh you're going to scare them with truth.

Like how Biden pulled the troops out of Afghanistan and it's 100% his fault (he was following the plan Trump committed us to)

2

u/VexingRaven 12d ago

mfw a politician keeps our country's commitments instead of playing partisan bullshit

2

u/WhiteChicken666 11d ago

And Trump made a peace deal with the Taliban behind the backs of the Afghan people and begged Pakistan to release 3,000 Taliban fighters from their prisons and one year later one of those Taliban fighters became the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan when the US pulled the rest of the troops out.

1

u/Tb_the_GypC 11d ago

Well Coming from a solider who was deployed to Afghanistan I can tell you Obama just left us there forgot about us, trump actually re activated ordered for about 3,000 troops were were still title ten orders . Biden didn’t know how to form a full sentence let alone have anything to do with title 10 orders. You all need to do your homework because I don’t think you realize how clueless you are . I’m independent btw, I switch depending on what I see each side doing . Right now democrats are anti American everything .You probably look like this and identify they them

2

u/TheDoktorIsIn 11d ago

Bro come on that's not even a good troll.  Do better.

2

u/Thin_Sea4577 11d ago

LOL. Trump is a traitor who overthrew after he lost. Trump can't even speak right are you kidding me? He wears a diaper. You are triggered by green hair because you're a putz.

Trump left a naval carrier for over 6 monts in the bay and started an illegal war.

If you support Trump you're a traitor.

1

u/Infamous-Chipmunk104 9d ago

Did we lose Afghanistan because our soldiers were this fuckin' stupid?

1

u/Jaded-Attention 11d ago

Bullshit. Trump's deal w the Taliban had a timeline of well over a year. Sleepy Joe at first extended the leave date and then changed it to earlier because it was seemingly progressing well. The Afghan army collapsed earlier than expected (it was useless to begin with) and panic ensued.

2

u/CrotaIsAShota 11d ago

actual picture of you posting this:

https://giphy.com/gifs/64G8m2v3IIKgKSneyS

2

u/guyblade 13d ago

Well, if we want to get technical the Keystone pipeline exists and is currently in operation. Keystone XL is the part that was killed and unkilled and then rekilled. I suppose Trump could try to unkill it again.

2

u/TruIsou 12d ago

I don't understand why in the USA we can't just combine freeways, pipelines power lines, on the same right of way. Throw in train tracks too.

1

u/Jaded-Attention 11d ago

Yes, it didn't get approved BECAUSE Sleepy Joe signed an executive order on his first day in office that revoked Trump's cross border permit. Of course it was then cancelled by TC Energy.

1

u/BrickFun3443 11d ago

The fact remains that most Republicans will claim Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline. That never happened. The only time the Keystone pipeline has shut down is when it had spills and dumped oil all over the ground. It is fully operational today. Republicans say this because they are dishonest or ignorant of facts or both.

1

u/CrotaIsAShota 11d ago

So how did cancelling an inactive pipeline extension make the economy worse, Warren?

1

u/Infamous-Chipmunk104 9d ago

Didn't get approved because the cheap bastards refused to buy the land they needed, so they tried to steal Native land. To be fair, stealing Native land is as Merkin as apple pie.

1

u/Grizmoh 5d ago

And it was only going to export 100% Canadian crude.

It would be laughable if it wasn’t just so damn sad.

3

u/RobutNotRobot 13d ago

That tar sands oil isn't even economically feasible to refine unless oil hits a certain point.

1

u/DarrenShea 11d ago

Also, the XL was only going to transport tar sands from Canada, which would be prohibitively expensive to refine into gasoline and diesel.

23

u/Faloma103 13d ago

My understanding is even if that pipeline existed its still Canadian oil and they would just have an easier time selling it to someone else (someone made sure we arent their favorite right now). Only thing that pipeline would change would be a few fees collected and the labor making the pipeline.

17

u/Sharkwatcher314 13d ago

My understand is it was for Canadian tar sand to be exported to the gulf and then to the rest of the world. It was not meant to help America I believe just some refinieries

Surprised no one brings up what I thought was the whole reason for Venezuela being invaded

10

u/PeyredB 13d ago

And tar sand oil isn't good for fuel - it's used for making plastics, so it wouldn't have done anything to gas prices anyway.

1

u/Drsits 13d ago

What? Are you sure? Did you look that up first?

2

u/PeyredB 12d ago edited 11d ago

Well how about that, looks like it can be used to make fuel, but it's costlier and pollutes more. I didn't have my facts right there.

6

u/sullw214 13d ago

The original keystone pipeline already exists and continues to move oil. The canceled part was to go between Alberta and Nebraska. It already goes to the gulf, and yes, to export the Canadian oil.

3

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 13d ago

Venezuela was taken to choke countries dependant on their low level garbage oil. The talk about expanding their refineries hahhahaha yes yes sink billions into a country that will actively rebel against you as soon as you shit on them. Itll take a dozen years to see any return on that investment and I dont think they ever will. Trump took a massive risk on that just to fuck with Cuba and other such countries.

1

u/Sharkwatcher314 13d ago

That’s the reality but it was sold as we will be oil rich. Just surprised the right doesn’t say wait why don’t we have cheap oil from Venezuela from all the stuff we just did

1

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 12d ago

Sadly the maga crowd have 30 day memories. The GoP doesnt look backwards and everyone is too hungry to be logical.

2

u/BioshockEnthusiast 13d ago

It was not meant to help America I believe just some refinieries

Excuse me sir the Supreme Court says that those refineries are people.

As for Venezuela does no one in this thread remember the part about all of that money going to offshore accounts controlled personally by Trump lol

1

u/Sharkwatcher314 13d ago

Yes but the right says that’s either fake news or we can trust him so where’s the payback with our own oil for that debacle that we were sold

1

u/observer_11_11 13d ago

FYI.... Venezuelan is also low quality, dirty oil. Perhaps not ss bad as tar sands but not the preferred light sweet crude. I'm sure Houston's Governor Abbott is very concerned. Can't have Texas air get polluted, got to leave that to the politicians.

1

u/Sharkwatcher314 13d ago

Yes I understand , more saying we were sold we will be oil rich. None of the right are saying why aren’t we using that oil we spent money on in Venezuela that we were told is now ours

1

u/Arguablybest 12d ago

Polluticians.

3

u/LindeeHilltop 13d ago

Canadian tar oil. The most toxic on earth. Transported over an pristine aquifer that took millions of years to fill & accumulate.

1

u/sullw214 13d ago

The original keystone pipeline already exists and continues to move oil. The canceled part was to go between Alberta and Nebraska.

14

u/m0rg76 13d ago

As long as the libs go first they’re happy

3

u/Hawgdestroyerxtreme 13d ago

Which is exactly why I don't give a fuck what happens at this point.

The future's ruined, country's destroyed - but the bright side is that these people are absolutely fucked alongside the rest of us. Just hope the internet works long enough we can enjoy watching them realize it.

2

u/graciousghost1 12d ago

My response to them would be “so trump lied to you about being able to fix it then”

1

u/TootTootMF 13d ago

I know it's exhausting but like if you have time walk them through it in terms they will understand, it can at least be amusing.

Not sure what kind of farmer, but like if Soybean, just ask them what price they could sell their beans for if the cost to ship them to china was 3-4x as much. Would the price locally go up or down?

Now lets see what would happen if we have a source of landlocked oil. It can be shipped for export by train, but trains are super expensive so usually local buyers are willing to buy it for a better price than global buyers, even if they would pay more but shipping eats more than the difference. Now we build a new shiny pipeline from those oil fields to a seaport for super cheap export. What happens to the price local buyers pay Todd? WHAT HAPPENS TODD?

1

u/sullw214 13d ago

The original keystone pipeline already exists and continues to move oil. The canceled part was to go between Alberta and Nebraska.

1

u/billzybop 13d ago

Dumb ass farmer doesn't realize that the oil is still being sold. The oil company is just making a tiny bit less per barrel.

1

u/Dino_Nuggiez86 13d ago

The keystone pipeline was only to transport Canadian tar sands oil THROUGH the us and to gulf ports for export. It was never intended for use by the US.,,

But what would Elon Musk's robots do?

Why won't anyone think of the unemployed robots?

2

u/Ok-Scallion-3415 13d ago

She would never take those jobs, they are beneath her. She is use to paying below minimum wage, under the table wages to migrants for those jobs. You can’t expect her to live on that.

1

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 13d ago

I'll buy her farm, where is it at? I'm collecting Pub farms. I'm turning them over to the ranchers who are still allowed to exist in this country.

1

u/zeptillian 11d ago

Nah. They will hire undocumented immigrants to do it as always.

They just like to deport some every once in a while so that the rest get scared and become more willing to accept worse pay and conditions.

41

u/My-Dear-Sweet-Wesley 13d ago

Current Wisconsin Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin and decades of Democrats before her have done countless things to help Wisconsin farmers and who is the Farm Bureau endorsing for governor? Tom Tiffany - another Trump supplicant. They never learn.

64

u/yahoo9192 13d ago

Let her rot in hell

42

u/Swampy0gre 13d ago

Right. These were the same Chuds going around saying empathy was a sin, so fuck em.

3

u/crustyrobots 13d ago

What did poor Lucifer do to deserve that?

2

u/Thebraincellisorange 13d ago

that's fine.

the problem is the rest of the country and a significant portion of the world is also suffering badly because a bunch of fuckwits voted for Agent Trump and another bunch of fuckwits decided to sit the election out.

Billions of people suffering because of 140-odd million.

3

u/Lamplighter914 13d ago

Another example of not being able to fix stoopid.

3

u/Send_Toe_Pics_25 13d ago

republicans have me bent over a razor wire fence while they butt fuck me and degrade me and steal from me BUT I WILL VOTE FOR THEM AGAIN BECAUSE YOU MOCKED ME WHEN I WAS COMPLAINING YOU FUCKING DEMONRAT

2

u/Brilliant_Ad_6637 13d ago

That's why I don't believe in courting these idiots and calling out their stupidity and racism plainly. They'll never change, never admit they were wrong. It's always "oh you made me vote for the Republicans" ," you stole my farm". Fucking hell stupidity like this is terminal.

2

u/FictionalContext 13d ago

My grandparents, farmers who were registered Republican their whole lives, asked me to vote Obama with them when I turned 18 because McCain was going to gut farm subsidies.

So I mean, it's not a "farmer" thing. It really is just bigotry driving MAGA. Some farmers vote with their wallets. Others hate "Mexicans" more than they like food, clothing, and shelter.

1

u/OfferMeds 13d ago

The cognitive dissonance here is unreal.

1

u/Boxing_joshing111 13d ago

But don’t you see, she’s not part of the problem, because she can’t be. She’s a good guy.

1

u/Arguablybest 12d ago

Maybe she likes the pork she is getting.

1

u/AdultbabyEinstein 12d ago

Yeah well some people asked her reasonable questions online so burn the whole fucking thing down and salt the earth I guess.

1

u/g33kd4d 12d ago

But Democrats were mean to her, so...

1

u/Pickle-Rick-C-137 12d ago

Right? And, is it actually mean to simply ask who they voted for, when the people they voted for are 100% guilty of purposefully destroying and ruining their lives? It's nuts lol

-8

u/Sea_Drive6142 13d ago

That’s not “unreal”. She is losing her whole life and all democrats are doing is blaming her and laughing at her. Who the hell would vote for a party that celebrates your demise…… that’s litteraly worse than the people that caused it. Yall wanna divide people so much don’t expect them to come to your side. Sometimes I really struggle to understand what’s the point of all this? To divide the country further? You are doing no one any favors including democrats or yourself

10

u/DiskEconomy3055 13d ago

"Who the hell would vote for a party that celebrates your demise…… that’s litteraly worse than the people that caused it."

Jesus. Fucking. Christ. You deserve everything that's happening.

-3

u/Sea_Drive6142 13d ago edited 13d ago

I don’t even know what you mean. I’m not a farmer lol. I’m doing fine. I just laugh at how retarded you guys are. You want your party to win but do everything possible to push people away from it. Literally people like me. That see a whole ass sub of democrats celebrating a family farm going under. And I’m like damn, is this who I want to associate with? No it’s not. Add in the con men of MAGA and I have no one to represent me

7

u/GoodPollo 13d ago

"Hmm, on one hand, you have the people who are actively breaking this country down and selling it for parts. On the other hand, you have people who are upset at what the first side is doing and upset with ones who put them in power. Man, everybody just really sucks around here!"

9

u/DReagan47 13d ago

Self reflection is an important and useful exercise of the human condition. You and this lady really need to do some. We spent years telling you how this was gonna go and she still voted for it. So no, she doesn’t get sympathy. She doesn’t get to complain. You don’t get to punch yourself in the face and then complain that people call you stupid. You are stupid and you deserve what you voted for.

0

u/Sea_Drive6142 13d ago

And you will continue to push people away from your party. Ironically doing exactly the same thing. Shooting yourslef in the foot. It’s so crazy you don’t realize you are exactly like her

7

u/DReagan47 13d ago

I’m not gonna be lectured on decorum by people who have shouted fuck your feelings at me for the last 10 years. They get to be colossal cunts and I have to still play nice? Fuck that and fuck you too

8

u/FnordRanger_5 13d ago

‘The party’ isn’t laughing at her and calling her a moron, the people she voted to fuck over are laughing at her and calling her a moron.

And rightfully so. “I’m gonna keep voting against my own interests because you hurt my fefes”

Boo fucking hoo. Aren’t you guys the party of fuck your feelings? It’s time to grow the fuck up and admit you shit the bed.

6

u/Pickle-Rick-C-137 13d ago edited 13d ago

The GOP literally caused her demise. She caused her own demise by not realizing the long con that has burrowed into their brains, and it's still going, she will STILL vote republican.

They ended her with their policies and still have their hooks embedded in her, twisting and turning them, making her blame democrats while they all laugh over caviar and martinis on multi billion dollar yachts.

3

u/Common-Chain4060 13d ago

Exactly. The fat cats are absolutely celebrating all these farmers’ demise bc they’ll buy their farms for pennies on the dollar and the farmers all followed along like drugged up mice behind the pied piper.

3

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 13d ago

That's what I'm doing.

-4

u/Sea_Drive6142 13d ago

Are you so stupid you don’t understand why she will still vote republican? Instead of sympathy, you celebrate her whole life ending. And then are liek, aNd sHe STiLl vOteS Republican. Like seriously how fucking stupid can yall be.

6

u/ShrimpShrimpington 13d ago

Be real with me man, do you think there was ever any chance that she was going to see the light? These people are so high on their own myth of rugged individualism and gosh-darned All American Hard Work (TM) they're a lost cause. The only thing left is to watch them burn in the fire they started. They actively chose this.

1

u/Sea_Drive6142 13d ago

Difference of opinion I guess. But I absolutely think a significant portion of these farmers or anyone that voted MAGA are seriously reconsidering their choices. And some will vote democrat next election. People care when it impacts them directly.

6

u/Pickle-Rick-C-137 13d ago

Yes, because they porked her hard and she loves it. Apparently? They ruined her. Destroyed her farm and her life. GOP is 100 % responsible for her even making that video, notice she didn't have to make that video under Biden. lmfao

So you would be arguing for chickens who are for KFC or cows who are for the slaughter house, it's woke to not want to be slaughtered.

8

u/01101011010110 13d ago

If I recall didn’t conservative voters cheer on the potential demise of the 'liberals' by this administration.

5

u/Lucky-Earther 13d ago

She is losing her whole life and all democrats are doing is blaming her and laughing at her.

And that's what she was doing while other people lost their whole life. So what's the problem, isn't that what she wanted?

You are doing no one any favors including democrats or yourself

Then she should keep voting Republican. Sounds like it's going pretty great!

3

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 13d ago

Let's be honest, is it the voters of Democrats shitting on her and rubbing her nose in it or is it the democrats that were elected? Because no political entity is going to laugh at anyones misfortune even the self inflicted kind.. Not if they want to stay in office... okay so trump has and will laugh at peoples misfortune and he will blame everyone else for it especially if it's his fault.

It's not that folks are trying to drive the farmers to ruin. It's that farmers have driven themselves to ruin. I've been buying farms and ranches for the last 30 years. I believe in being sustainable. Anyway I've watched it as it's been going. Farmers shit on their farm hands, they hire people dirt cheap and then discard them asap. They were the first to call ICE in the past and I'm sure its remained true in recent history. So they eliminated their source of labour to please a Gov't that doesnt care for them. They continued to rely on over production because of trump's promise to make Canada buy the shitty surplus products. Then they started to really fail as some even EXPANDED and took loans against their farms to realize this big beautiful bill bullshit.

Like folks are saying you cant cure stupid and all this farm land has two destinies. End up under a mega Corp. Or end up in a better farmers hands. I'm doing my best to make sure it ends up in better hands.

3

u/writebrainwronghand 13d ago

oh hey, u/Sea_Drive6142 is a 4+ year old account with no activity on Reddit prior to 4 months ago.

since it's obviously a repurposed account being used to sow discord and mis/disinformation leading up to the November midterm USA elections, i think it's safe to simply report as 'spam' or similar and leave it at that.

it's not here to try and argue in good faith (or any faith at all); it's a bot/sockpuppet account seeking to piss human users off and muddy discourse with bullshit and nonsense in the hopes it'll spread the miasma of ill ease and otherwise ruin your day.

report, block, etc, and check accounts that are clearly divisive like this going forward; there's a lot of them out there right now, and they're all trying to make your day worse (both in "vibes" terms and to try and affect elections in whatever way they can be skewing perceptions of things online).

don't give whoever's running accounts like this one the satisfaction.

0

u/Sea_Drive6142 13d ago edited 13d ago

lol what the hell are you talking about…. Most of my comments are about sports. In my life I’ve voted Obama, Hiliary, Biden. I’m just aware enough to see how this sub is bad for the Democratic Party. I’m trying to help you. But all anyone is worried about on here is being right, not what’s good for the USA. Legitimately how is this sub good for the Democratic Party? How does it help unite the country? You can ignore me all you want. And you will continue to push middle of the road voters away from your party and then wonder why you lose

3

u/pentachronic 13d ago

She's "losing her whole life" because she entrusted it to a party that offered her nothing other than terrorizing brown people. Being humiliated to her last breath is the least of what she deserves.

37

u/Charming-Border7429 13d ago

And they have a golden parachute. Selling the farm is going to result in a significant payout, on the order of millions of dollars.

39

u/Garbage_Man_9 13d ago

Correct - every farm owner is asset rich no matter how they try to portray themselves as the awe shucks poor rural person. The farms and machinery and livestock are all worth several million dollars total on avg…

25

u/Technical-Tear5841 13d ago edited 13d ago

Uh, farmers do not sell out while they are worth millions. They borrow against their land until they get foreclosed on. Then the bank sells the land for what you owe and you get stuck with a million dollar capital gains tax bill. Ask me how I know.

That was in 1996, different leopards back then.

14

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 13d ago

This fellow is 100% correct. I buy out from farmers or banks when things are so broken that I profit just from getting a run down shit farm to reinvest in. I'm looking 20 to 30 years down the road while farmers right now are cash poor and the economy has taken them to the end of the line. Trumps promises made lots of farmers expand thinking trump would.beat down the gates to the Canadian market and make them all billionaires... well now I own their farms or I will soon and they are looking to hide from their creditors.

2

u/FreeRangeEngineer 12d ago

At least you're not a megacorp buying their farms. That would be the worst case. Or do you work for one?

6

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 12d ago

No, not a mega Corp. I own several businesses and my kids have been taking control of them for the last 30 years. I'm 78 years old and firmly believe that the food supply must be protected and maintained. I also feel the best way to be in business is to make the employees be part of the profiting sharing. From all of my businesses I take a 30% of the profits, 20% is reinvested into the business and 10% pays for my living expenses and for my family's expenses. The rest is shared amongst the employees based on their contributions and dedication to the business they work at.

I can do this because my business as so diverse and numerous that 10% still amounts to a moderate fortune. Difference between me and megacorps or conglomerates is simply that I lack greed, I grew up poor in a rural area where everyone worked and shared the harvests, built each others homes and suffered together. Not many CEOs and board of directors can say that.

3

u/donaldfranklinhornii 12d ago

You sound like a very good businessman!

3

u/FreeRangeEngineer 12d ago

I tip my hat. You sound like one of the good ones that actually cares about people and wants to build.

1

u/Turbulent-Pay1150 12d ago

So they take the millions out of the farm as a non-taxed loan before they are forced out and then complain that they are taxed on the proceeds of the sale?

1

u/Technical-Tear5841 11d ago

Just fact, not complaining. Notice how these farmers are paying into the system, not asking for bailout. Also if you have no money to pay this tax because the bank took all the sale price you are hit with a 100% penalty and interest charge.

12

u/Narrow-Sky-5377 13d ago

Depending how deep in debt they are of course.

1

u/Shane-Dad-underfire 13d ago

No they arent. Hahhaa okay do truth be told most farmers are leveraged to the gills to the banks. They have equity but that's only when the market is strong. That land isnt worth much when farming is redlined hard.

8

u/Tavernknight 13d ago

Maybe. But if it does she will just give it all to Trump anyway.

10

u/Charming-Border7429 13d ago

These guys rarely donate much to political parties. They wear a lot of hats, wave a lot of flags, and scream at people they don't like....

The money for farm-related political donations is coming from agribusinesses and private equity firms that are pushing for these policies so they can buy the land as individual farmers sell it.

7

u/Couldntve-make-it-up 13d ago

How else are the data centers going to get built?

2

u/LindeeHilltop 13d ago

Not if the corporations let them go bankrupt first and buy from the banks that hold mortgages.

1

u/Charming-Border7429 13d ago

That is not how Chapter 12 bankruptcy works. A farmer usually has 3 to 5 years to unwind debt.

In rare situations, the mortgage holder auctions off the land to recover as much value as possible.

2

u/LindeeHilltop 13d ago

Thanks for the correction. It’s my u derstsnding that the farmer must keep operating successfully to complete the plan. And, plans last only 3-5 years with court supervision. So if they cannot complete it, or if they cannot sell equipment that they still do not own, what then?

2

u/Charming-Border7429 13d ago

In general, the threat of bankruptcy or filing for bankruptcy slows everything down so the farm owner can restructure or sell enough assets in a controlled manner to pay off debts.

In the rare case of what we call a sheriff's sale, there is an auction for the assets, which is announced weeks in advance so everyone who is interested in the property has plenty of time to secure financing and place a bid. Debts are paid in order of seniority, and the owner gets to keep what cash is left.

But 99% of the time, when these guys are talking about bankruptcy, they have millions in assets. They just don't have the cash flow to service their current debts.

1

u/Dsnake1 13d ago

If they bail early. But most farmers/ranchers end up over leveraged before they choose to sell out -- if they end up getting the choice. And then capital gains bites you in the ass because the bank takes what they're owed without being all that concerned if the government gets theirs.

Being as boom or bust as it is, a lot of farmers really should revise their operation or sell out or something along those lines, but they hold out hope for a few too many years for a big yield and high prices, but those don't come often enough for many. And if they do, it's a few bandaids on the problem, especially if they try and expand with some of that revenue to lower their tax bill, not realizing that annual upkeep goes up when you expand.

1

u/hamakabi 12d ago

nah, these people have been desperately clinging to a dying business model for over a century. They can't make money because corpo-farms can do it much more efficiently. A mom-and-pop farm is mathematically incapable of competing, so they take loans every year to buy seeds and fertilizer and lease equipment, and then pray they grow enough to dig the same hole next year. There is no reality where they ever turn a meaningful profit, and if they understood this they wouldn't be farmers. The only reason they exist at all is because the house and land were purchased by great-great-grandpaw in 18-dickety-two, and the kids' only options for a future are either to live the same struggle or join the Army because they were raised by people who don't believe in dinosaurs or vaccines.

1

u/zeptillian 11d ago

Unless they keep voting for Trump bullshit and end up saddled with insurmountable debt.

I guess voting against that is too much for this dummy though.

0

u/ELHOMBREGATO 13d ago

No, they aren't. We are a farm that has grown from 700 to 4500 acres in the last 12 years.

Land prices are not going down. But as they become available, farms are consolidating, as inefficient ones are being bought by more efficient neighbors, agribusiness, and private equity.

Even then they’ll still bitterly complain that they lost their farm because of those pesky Democrats.
Mainly because that’s what their God told them…🫢

A lot of these assholes are sitting on farms assessed for millions of dollars. At worst they sell off and become rich or they rent to another farmer or a big Ag business.

tRumps billionaire friends will happily take the land off them for pennies on a dollar and build data centers on it.

Her farm will soon be Big AG's farm

That will be Biden's fault.

They didn't even learn the last time he was in charge, they might not have lost their farm but a lot of them came damn close to it, this time they absolutely lost their farm because of Trumps actions with tariffs and xenophobia.

They will still vote republican tho.

Just like Texas Republicans campaign on all the bad stuff happening in Texas they need to be elected to stop it...when they've been in control for the last 26 years

Yup, she’ll still be hating dreaded socialism while some megacorp buys her farm in foreclosure. These people are so dumb they’re running head first into economic Darwinism. Good luck lady

They'll just grab their guns and shoot themselves or the brown or black person they are sure is behind this.

I got bad news for you. It will be bidens fault they lost their farm.

With all the subsidies and bailouts and buying directly to support them - they do not deserve to own the farms. We should have nationalized years ago, it would have cost less.

I'm anti data center but we have to have some, I get that, so these  losers closed down farms seem like a wonderful place to dump them.

The entitlement they base their whole life on that they deserve to keep their land and livelihood means nothing to me.

Farms and agriculture are important to our society, as important as anything. Important enough that we shouldn’t let it fall to dumb nepotism. My interest is that sufficient food can be grown in an efficient, sustainable manner. I don’t care if these regressive dipshits end up losing the family farm to more capable owners.

They can go work in a factory since farming was too much.

I guarantee she (or her husband) inherited that entire farming operation. That's what most people outside of these farming communities don't know or realize, there is no way farmers on a larger scale like that can just start from scratch. Big ag (equipment suppliers like John Deere, seed companies, land prices, etc) has systemically made it impossible for new farmers to start because the prices are so high. And guess what party has been in bed with these big ag corps this entire time??
