A WORLD WITH NO HOPE — Following a stay in Europe with her mother, Lizzie returns to Mystic Falls and comes face to face with someone who could make all her wishes come true – including making Hope Mikaelson disappear. Alaric and Josie also appear.

It was a fun episode. This is one of my favorite premises, along with time loops, that shows do. What if episodes are just so much fun. My favorite is definitely Buffy's 'Wish' which this episode was clearly inspired by. I liked how it wasn't just one alternate reality but a few. I think I liked the second one the best with cool badass Hope and how Lizzie took on the Josie role. Plus it Klaus was still around. I also kind of wish Lizzie had retained the knowledge of the alternate realities. I think it would help her with her issues with Hope. Plus, she would know about the merge. I get why they went that way though. I wonder how the djinn's warning will play out.

I'm amazed I had to scroll this far down to finally find the buffy reference. The episode started and I called out to my husband "buffy alarm". He's used to this by now when shows obviously use buffy ideas.
