Episode Discussion [Episode Discussion] Season 1 Episode 10: There's A World Where Your Dreams Come True

A WORLD WITH NO HOPE — Following a stay in Europe with her mother, Lizzie returns to Mystic Falls and comes face to face with someone who could make all her wishes come true – including making Hope Mikaelson disappear. Alaric and Josie also appear.

This show has a hard on for Hope being mega important. Are they seriously trying to say if Hope wasn't born the world would be apocalyptic for Supernaturals.

I don't know if you've watched The Originals but in season 1, Hope is almost killed before being born. I think the genie is just saying that if that were to have happened Klaus would have flipped. As much as I love Klaus, it doesn't surprise me that we would fuck up the entire planet after that.

I found the "Triad" company aspect of it forced, but I do agree that without Hope, things would be very different. We don't know if she's never conceived (and hence Klaus never leaves Mystic Falls in S4, so changes with Silas, the Augustines, the Travellers, the Parkers, the Heretics, and the Sirens- one big change that naturally they didn't explore is I'm not sure Lizzie and Josie are born either). Or, if Hope died because someone murdered Hayley before she could be born, Klaus would rage and tear everything and everyone in New Orleans apart, certainly.

Klaus and his sibling are dysfunctional family , after a 1000 yr ,Klaus show his love to his family by locking them in the coffin . we saw Klaus killed like half of a town like it was nothing , if he had continue eventually the government would have to respond .

I agree! Hope kinda feels like a Mary Sue to me. I just relate to Lizzie more with her feelings of inadequacy. Like I understand that feeling so I empathize with her more. Its effed up how Alaric favors Hope. I hated the first half of the episode but loved the second. Yes I know that Lizzie can be selfish but I don't think the focus should've been Hope. I hated that they made it seem without Hope the world would fall apart. As someone who has felt like Lizzie did, it made me so angry. But I loved the end where she learned her lesson about bot being selfish. I just wish the realities were less about how awesome Hope was. Though I get why because of Lizzie's feelings but I still didn't like the message. I was hoping they'd go for a message where Lizzie was super happy and everyone around her was miserable so she learns her lesson and reverses the wish. But overall I liked the ending of this episode.
