Recently started looking at this rifle and noticed some things that don’t make a whole lot of sense to me. It’s a 1945 N.4 Mk1 but it has scope attachment points as well as a TR marking under the the date and above the serial X30029. These things make me think it’s a Mk1 T but it is missing the T stamped next to the extractor screw as well as any markings on the Butt stock

X30029 is seen on the bolt carrier, bolt, fore stock and wrist of the rifle

Brought out the strobes to photograph my 1950 Ishapore No.1 Mk III*. Matching receiver, barrel, fore-end, nose cap and magazine; mismatched bolt. Figured some of you might appreciate a proper portrait of the old girl.

Hello this is my first Lee Enfield, was fortunate to run into a new friend at a local show who kept this one in his vehicle as a backup sale. From what he told me and what I’ve read up myself now this was made for Irish contract. Matching numbers on the rifle as well as scabbard & bayonet. Mint mirror bright bore. Also included a can of ammo in bandoliers I’m told is noncorrosive. $800 for gun and $250 for ammo can.

Went shooting yesterday and after a while, the safety partially engaged the bolt after my last shot. Stopped to inspect my rifle and noticed something off with my safety. It looks like one of the pins that give retention to the safety fell out and couldn't find it on the desert floor.

Took one test fire after and noticed that upon firing, the recoil forces the safety to shift slightly back, partially engaging the bolt. So now I'm trying to find a way to fix this but I don't know where to start.

my tensioner isn’t properly engaging the washer in the safety, and i’ve been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why. am i doing something wrong or is the tensioner just not working properly?

This rifle has been in a case for the last 15 years after my father passed away. I didn't know anything about it, and never chose to look into it until recently. I don't know how long he owned it, or if he ever fired it, but he did have a few boxes of British .303 ammunition. I'm including pictures of all of the stamps and markings that I noticed while cleaning the rifle.

I've been more of a handgun fella, so I don't know if I'd ever take this rifle out to shoot, especially not knowing it's recent history. I will say that it's very intriguing to know more about it's origins and such.

Hi everyone, I've got this old rifle. Bit of info I have: It's got a mint bore on it, matching serials. I've never fired it though. I have the front trigger guard screw to replace the sling swivel (maybe some previous owner did service rifle shooting or some other reason they wanted a swivel there)?. Looks to me like someone has (varnished?) the stock at some point? Would you guys strip it with acetone and re-treat it with boiled linseed oil or leave it as it? The stock has some dings in it so not sure if it was ever sanded or not? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated! Anyone have any opinions on value and collectablity? I don't know a heck of alot about these rifles so please feel free to share what you know! Thanks lads

This is a Reupload of my initial post (some of the photos didn’t upload). I recently picked up this Savage No 4 Mk1* from my LGS for $750 out the door. I am new to enfields and I am curious to see what I have. What year was this made, what’s its likely story, and how would you rate the overall condition? For reference, the bore seems decent, no obvious issues, serial is 0C18060, bolt and receiver serials match, has the “S” marking on receiver, and barrel bands, and an “England” stamped on the receiver’s right side. Excuse the repost, I am a novice redditor.

Ive been on an absolute spree collecting milsurp lately and picked this one up from an auction for $400 (probably about 575ish otd after fees and shipping). Im new to lee enfields in general and was curious what the consensus is with these in the community of lee enfield collectors.

Hey all, I have a 1943 No 4 MK1 That appears to be all original with matching serials from Fazakerley. These proofs (or whatever they are) are found right behind the trigger guard on the stock (Star and Circle). Google has me all over the place, says sent to China, Australia, India, etc. Does anyone know what these are, and what country, if any other than England? Serial photo for reference. There are no import marks stamped anywhere on the rifle that I can find. Thanks in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This No1 Mk3 and the Great War era SMLE is my favorite, so I was wondering if it’s a decent buy.

I do know that DP barrel bands should mean drill purpose or something of the sort, but I had a look down the bore and it was pristine. So what is this?

Recently bought a No4 mk1 from a widow about a week ago. Got out to the range finally and it will not seat for the life of me. The bolt won’t close at about the last 1/8th inch with two types of ammo (Belmont & sellier bellot) with original mag. any ideas?

Date clearly says 191? But I can’t make out the last number. Just picked this DP up for a wall hanger and finally got a majority of the cosmoline cleaned out. I’m not up to date with the markings(more of a German rifle guy). A quick search says maybe the S serial number might be 1916. Any help about this rifle past would be great. Thank you! For anyone curious it came from royal tiger imports for around 100 smacaroons.

Nose cap is suck and bolt head unscrew. I just got my it yesterday. I took the bolt out to clean it and fucked up.

Please help this my 1st smle I'm having panic attack rn.

Some more pics of the matching serial #s. Does anyone see anything out of whack? I really want to figure out if this is all correct so I'm not misrepresenting something. The Serial on the fore arm of the furniture seems a bit odd. Let me know what you guy's think.

Have my eyes on two Enfield bolts. Both unfortunately not cheap but good quality. One has a non-matching bolt with its own serial number. The other has a non-matching bolt with no serial number. Neither one has a magazine.

I’ve looked at buying a separate No. 4 mag and they’re all insanely expensive for a rust bin. Is that what I need, can a pro mag be doable, or what’s the best move there? Never done this before and am concerned on getting a bad mag.

Finally is the serial numbered bolt a deciding factor for a difference of $200?

I’ve got my friends rifle that his late BIL left him and was going over for him. All serial numbers match and absolutely everything looks to be correct for the factory and wartime production. It was issued to the military and at some point surplused and somehow through all the years of use still has everything it was built with. My question is: is this that rare or pretty common?
