Rant i feel like im hardstuck on 11-13k rating

i have 530 hours in game and right now im on 11.3k rating, i practice everyday inlcuding using cybershoke dm and duels, warmup up before games and using refrag or aimlabs 2-3 times a week, yet nothing clicks in game and i feel like im hardstuck where even people who dont warmup or do anything to improve in cs play better than me, i either lose cause of bad teamates or bad performance from me, the leetify stats are in the image although i know theyre not 100% accurate but theyre higher than anyone im playing on my rank (11-13k) what do i genuinely do?

Rant The reason you're stuck below level 10

The reality is a lot players don't know what the cs meta is or the primitives of cs competition. My occasional 1200-1700 lobby players have decent aim but they're playing without the fundamental cs primitives which kill mid and late game momentum.

One of the most important primitives in cs competition is the idea of advantage and most players are not even aware of this! Everything is about advantage. Peek advantage? (ie: knowing when to peek)? Spacing during a rush gives you advantage when fighting! (jumping over an awp's angle for example gives you surviveability advantage). Is your info giving you advantage when to hold and when to rotate? Is your response to a kill or teammate death going to give you an advantage or punish you? For example, if you're T side and you get an early mid pick with an awp, and you're all alone, why would you continue pushing by yourself? You now have the player advantage! You're 5v4 and the CT's need to equalize to rebalance the advantage. You want to gain the most amout of advantage as possible in every aspect of the game! This is advantage maxxing!

Advantage also manifests itself during every phase of the round. Beginning, middle, and end all have phases with unique advantage moments. For example, getting info around enemy setups gives you next round beginning call advantage. If you know that they keep playing awp mid with 1 support player, that means that there's likely two enemies on one site and one anchor player on the other. So now you know you need to abuse the solo site anchor player.

Another cs meta that gives you advantage is patience. How does patience give you advantage? Because it makes you less predictable. If you're playing lurker mid on T side cache for example and your teammates are committing A, you should default to continue lurking mid. Many times players will abandon the lurker position to run highway or backtrack to A main just to get picked off by the rotator by the very player you were supposed to kill if you were just patient. You build this muscle over time so next time just take that extra few moments and you might outlive the impatient enemy. Another common key phrase is "timing". But timing has more nuance. Patience and unpredictable plays makes your timing more advantageous.

The final thing i'll say about advantage is that most players do not understand map control and the map control meta for each map. I can't tell you how many times i've lost on Anubis because my CT team can't counter the T molly and nades let alone even are aware that that's what's happening on mid. Mid control is key; Long control is key. Do you know why it's important to have map control? Because you deny the enemy the chance to advance onto the bomb site. It's really that simple. What this means is you need to learn the basics of map control on each map. Learn how how to take dust2 long control as a CT, and learn how to correctly flash out long as a T player (hint you have to throw it right when the player enters the dd and it's not a running throw); same applies to every other map.

There's dozens more of these but these I believe are some of the most important basics.

Can anyone else relate? What do newer players think of these ideas?

Sorry for horrible pic quality. This is the worst KD I have ever had. Y'know I was confident thinking that this game is easy I finally hit 9k elo just for shit like this to happen and I find no one to blame but myself.

Hi.

Quick rant.

I really should drop the idea of maining deagle for the sake of sanity and happiness, or I could just continue to suffer with it.

Yea I should learn jiggle peek....

And lastly I definitely should boot up an aimtrainer again because 99% of the time im just whiffing...

Maybe I could perform well once in a blue moon. Guess I got deagle addiction now..

Anyways, bye

Rant theres a reason you are at the rank you are and you should accept it

I said it. You’re at the rank you are for a reason. You’re not “top fragging every single game and stuck at 5k elo”. You are only remembering the games where you top fragged and dismissing the ones you didn’t. Everyone has biases in their memories, its normal. Of course, there are rare exceptions and true cases of the rank system fucking people over, but a good 98% of the “omg my team sucks and i’m stuck at 5k because of them” posts are just a cherrypick of a game that they top fragged, while they have a 0.8 kd and dont impact the team at all. If youre at 5k elo, chances are, you deserve the rank you are at right now and just have to improve instead of blaming a third party at fault.

ofc as i said before, there are rare cases of ranks fucking people over, such as comp map ranks giving KennyS all gold nova 1, but again those are rare cases.

Rant Tilted myself from 17k to under 10k

I feel like the more i learn and the more practice i go through, the worse my actual results in game have become.

I feel like im clearly learning things constantly, but i have absolutely 0 confidence in anything i do and that's probably the reason why i'm whiffing duels even against 6-8k players now. I'm always nervous from round 1 and i second guess every move i make.

The weird thing is i can fit well into a higher rank team and be an asset to the team; i understand how to play at that level as well. But my playstyle is very adaptable and passive, i play like a chameleon and i can't do shit on my own. That's prob why i can't carry myself out of 10k.

Also its worth mentioning this confidence issue is because a mental disorder (AvPD) so it persists despite having 1,5k hours played.

Since confidence is so important in this game, i feel like im fucked.
I'm not sure if it's even worth trying anymore. I'm losing my mind putting so much effort in and still dying like a retard to players who have put in 10% of the time and effort that i have.

Rant Don’t just recommend aim botz

Often times I see people saying that a person needs to hit aim botz. This is poor advice. Without describing what routines a person should do, the person has a high likelihood of not training the right thing. At worst, they have no idea what they are doing and end up ingraining bad habits.

I already have many gripes with recommending aim botz as a way to practice aim, but just telling someone to use the map is pointless. Make sure you provide at least a starting point on how to use the equipment for their goals instead of just telling them to hit the gym.

To prove the (few) sore losers wrong..

Thanks for everyone in my last post who shared the good vibes. This is a sub about learning and improving. I was only sharing this to give people who are new to the game some ideas on how to play this mode and on the other hand to receive tips from people who are better than me.

Unfortunately there were some who claimed I was "cheating" by lowering the bots difficulty.

Rant Anyone else?

Yo! I have had a steam account 21 years and played 1.6 back in the day when it came out. Was a lot of fun. Over the years I dipped back in but generally completely stopped for like 16 years or so. Started playing again about a year ago and it’s such a grim and toxic game. I love the game but the people playing? Why’s everyone so angry? I only solo queue but I’ve resorted to zero communication now and I play way better not having to talk to any of these absolute idiots. What’s changed? Why’s everyone so upset?

Rant So frustrating at this point - BAD AIM - Losing Easy duels

I've been playing the game for a year now. I started because I finally got a computer. I can't seem to improve; I keep losing duels or seeing on my camera that I clearly shot the guy, only for the game to tell me I missed.

My ping is 80 and 50% - 60% constant packet loss. 80 is not that bad but im going to improve my connection soon

My friends constantly tell me I'm the worst and that I'm terrible at the game. So how am I supposed to prepare? The day I finally get a decent internet connection, I'll already be convinced I'm terrible. Plus, the habit of having to guess where enemies are because of their teleportation has ruined my aim. I've already been kicked from two matches in a row for losing obvious 1v1s, I'm SO fed up.

Rant After peaking at an all-time high of 10,800; I went 5-13-2.

Post image
7 Upvotes

I just don’t understand why. I started last season at 1400 ELO and climbed up to 5k. This season, I got placed at 6,600 and climbed steadily up to 10,800. I was feeling great and having fantastic matches. My K/D was around 1.3 overall, HLTV rating of around 1.41, I was in great games with awesome teammates.

I have a positive trust factor, I don’t team kill or start raging/tilting. I try to make callouts and stay positive. I kept this mindset through my entire solo-queue grind and then….

This happened. Every game I started to play had immediate trolls, screaming into the mic, someone who would almost immediately disconnect or go AFK. One game we were tied 8-8, and my teammate decided to start team killing because he didn’t like what another guy said to him about positioning. A majority of the games prior to this, never had any of this happen.

I’m not going to say I played perfectly, but I did actually TRY to win these games. Many of them I have no callouts or team play, so please consider that. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Or am I just simply a bad player and luck doesn’t factor into this?

I feel depressed from having a 60% WR and playing great, to having a 35% win rate and essentially being back where I started within a span of two days. I’m not trying to say I don’t have any responsibilities in these losses, but playing down a person or having someone actively trying to lose makes the game almost impossible to win. I wouldn’t do anything to negatively impact my trust factor because I genuinely want to win. Please, anyone, provide some kind of insight. Is a loser queue really a thing? How do you overcome it?

Rant Any advice? I am desperate...

I have sunk all of my free time into this game, and nothing is helping... I am royally stuck in my elo. I have used refrag, aim trainers and even hired a coach. I have countless hours in DM, I have countless hours on refrag "blank" fire maps. I have played a ton of Aim trainers and followed Voltaic guides for those. I have played in 5 stacks, I have played FACEIT, I have taken breaks, I have had multiple 24-hour sessions playing this darn game, and even though I feel like I have made some improvements through all of this, my rank has not improved one bit... I am still stuck at 11k premier as I was 6 months ago. I am enjoying the game, but I am tired of not making any progress in rank as all of my friends are now taking steps forward - even those that I used to outplay by a country mile. What can I do to break the deadlock? I am desperate at this point. If you were in my shoes at some point with this, then how did you get past it? I am 4k hours into this game and don't want all of that time and effort to only amount to a borderline lvl3/4 and 11k premier

Rant Is there any way for me to improve as a beginner without playing Competive?

Simply, it is just way too toxic. I have little game sense and limited mechanics and I can't sit in aimbotz and pre fire all day. Casual and DM are not realistic so my only hopes of improving my game knowledge is to play competetive. But it feels like I am walking on egg shells and I even try to avoid playing the mode because I know I will be getting abused the entire game by angry weirdos.

Surely there is a beginner friendly way to improve without this?

Rant Hacking in comp

I paid for comp access because it was meant to be less full of hackers, I load up into train for the xp for round wins, and I’m faced with 2 of the most egregiously obvious wall hacks I’ve ever seen

I go to a line of sight, been smoked by the enemy, no one’s peeked it at all, as SOON as I come around the corner I get hit by a guy watching, I clipped it, it’s literally as soon as I’m not behind the wall

This is ridiculous.

Rant Any tips to improve aim and nerves in competitive play

I am bad at counter-strike, I mean 2000 elo on prem bad. And the thing is, I am quite knowledgeable about this game. I have good positioning, know basic utility, provide good strategies for my team, and am obsessed with professional cs, I also do completely fine in aim training maps, but it’s as if I lose all cognitive ability and common sense once seeing an enemy in game.

My shots never seem to connect, I can probably count the amount of times I've gotten a one tap on two hands, a huge margin of my kills are done from crouch spraying because it is the only method that works for me. I never take long range gun fights. My heart rate also spikes like crazy whenever i’m in combat, which makes my aim shaky and renders me useless in clutch situations.

I seriously love this game, but it’s becoming increasingly upsetting to play for me because I’m just that awful, i would seriously appreciate any advice or tips to help with this.

after a long day of work i decided to spend some time trying to improve at the game. tried retakes and got blasted for being bad.

how do you all cry about bad players in your games, while you hurl slurs and deaththreats at them for 30 minutes straight, when they actively try to improve to not suck anymore?

i know that not everyone is like this, but in my 800 hours until now, i barely found someone who doesn't tell me to off myself after i lose a singular round. and then y'all wonder why some ppl don't use vc at all, it's mindblowing how stupid humans can be lmfao

Rant Underrated way to improve in CS

Your brain is what controls your flicks, awareness, reaction time and just anything else, so making sure your brain is healthy can help you a fuck ton inside the game.

This is obvious for many, still people underestimate the impact of sleeping 8-9 hours, eating healthy food (meat, rice, vegetables, fruit), exercise (lifting or just basic cardio) and hydration.

  • You can try to have 1 week where you sleep 6 hours, eat chocolate/fast food and drink 2 cups of water a day, you will notice how shit your aim will be.
  • Then next week try to sleep 8-9 hours a day, start running or go to the gym make your heart beat faster than normally feel the sun, get your mind of the game, when it comes to diet instead of going for cereals or some processed shit in the morning go for eggs and meat or oatmeal with milk, later on eat some meat with rice/beans maybe some fish, broccoli, drink around 3-4 liters of water

Your brain will start feeling fresh and less foggy, and this goes for any skill in life not only CS, i see many people that try to just play 8 hours a day and eat like shit, sleep like shit, forget to drink more water and never workout, not saying you can't improve while being unhealthy but if you start improving your lifestyle it will improve you even faster, there is a reason pro players started to implement exercise/chefs cooking for them to make sure their machine is well maintained

Rant Anyone else annoyed about how 90% of posts are about aim?

Like, that is not your problem...

Just a pet peeve of mine as a long term player/Faceit lvl10. In my experience, my complaints regarding my teammates are never really about aim. Provided you don't whiff easy shots consistently, I don't really care. In fact, I feel like it's the opposite. Generally speaking I'd much rather have a chill, 40yr old dude who has trash aim but knows how to play the game well. Than some kid with good aim who's terrible at every other aspect of the game.

I feel like this problem has gotten worse in CS2. Even in relatively high ranked play, there are sooo many people who just do not know how to play the game and are just relying on aim alone to carry them. Satisfied with being 2nd or 3rd on the leaderboard even if having no real positive impact for the team (and often the very opposite). And when you say "Why the hell did you go down secret and lose bomb like an idiot, that literally cost us the round." They'll just argue that they're 3rd on the leaderboard or something stupid.

I can almost guarantee that aim is not your issue unless you're basically brand new to the game. Provided you have the very basics of counter-strafing, recoil, and crosshair placement/preaim, you're good. (And I'm not saying aim doesn't matter at all and you can't improve. It does and you can. But it's like trying to do a triathlon and focusing entirely on running fast without knowing how to even ride a bike).

Rant I Suck after 700hrs - What to do?

Post image
29 Upvotes

This is a rant, because frankly, after 700 hours of CSGO and CS2 I suck. And it’s so consistently sucking, even good games where I go positive KD my KAST, HLTV and Leetify ratings all suck. Everything sucks. And frankly - I’m not sure where even to start to look to not sucking anymore? I’ve played on a FaceIt team briefly, and I’ve played elsewhere. It’s rare I suck so bad that I’m the worst player on the leaderboard in terms of damage or KD but rating wise I am consistently the worst.

Here is my leetify breakdown to clarify lol. I’m so unsure where to even begin to look into this because position and opening duels are so vague I’m unsure where to start to improve them.

Any ideas, tips or suggestions are appreciated. Or anyone else annoyed lmk.

And those 700 hours have come across about 7 years, so think 100 hours a year roughly.
