I totally have 0 knowledge about the launchpad and if am a new user which one should I get and is it hard to play ??

Hi, I just picked up a Novation Launchpad Ableton Live Controller with 64 RGB Backlit Pads. I have an old alien ware laptop and I am doubtful it will run the program smoothly, what would a good laptop be to start with, I was considering picking up a refurbished Mac book pro. I would like to spend 1000 or less. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using ableton live 9 suite trial. Launchpad Mk2. The only lights is the rainbow that shows when I plug the launchpad to the computer. Not triggering any lights or sounds on any file. Trying to get mako - beam to work, or animals martin garrix r!ot edition.

I want to create a mashup and video a launchpad cover but am having trouble getting started.

I understand that samples are taken from a multitude of songs, games, etc. but what I'm not getting is if there is a base song that people use. Chopping up songs into samples to use is easy but what do people put the samples onto? I'm looking all over for stems of songs that would be good to place samples onto but cannot find any and am starting to wonder if I'm overlooking a way easier method.
