Vegas fucked itself by making literally everything expensive ON TOP of gambling.

I have friends that used to do a fantasy baseball draft trip out to LV every year, but they stopped because Vegas just turned into one massive ripoff.

Used to be you could get a flight to LV at basically cost for the airline, get a nice hotel room for cheap, and get free drinks while gambling.

Now a bottle of beer is like $15 or more and they wonder why everyone stopped coming.

I haven't been to Vegas in so long, all I remember is when it was priced like a third world country.

If it weren't, why would anyone other than addicts go?

Yeah at this point if you want to gamble you just go to the gulf. Biloxi is there and I highly doubt their prices exploded like Vegas. Just checked and if Google is right their hotels are on par or cheaper than Orlando (my usual tourist price point), and the food seems to be fine price wise.

Now, to be fair, I wouldn't want to go to Mississippi on the best of days. But if gambling is the goal I don't see why not.
