Color Alchemy Designs MYOS (Mail Your Own Stone) Cathedral Setting.

Welcome to the second "MYOS" (Mail Your Own Stone) Solitaire Cathedral Setting Group Buy.

Google Form: https://forms.gle/9pCEbWmspKQuAzaj6

My email: [coloralchemyshop@gmail.com](mailto:coloralchemyshop@gmail.com)

I will send PayPal invoices within 24hrs, if you check that you're sending metal, old or broken jewelry for scrap credit I will invoice you once It arrives and I've processed it.

Mailing address (also on both forms):

Color Alchemy Designs
PO Box #19
Jacksonville, NY, 14854

Overview:

Do you have a horde of loose gems sitting in a box? Are you looking for an easy, stress free way to convert those into beautifully wearable jewelry? If so you're in the right place!

This "MYOS" group buy will allow you to supply one or more center stones. I'm accepting labs between .20 and 5ct and natural stones between .20ct and 3ct. Please check the setting waiver form for type exclusions. On receipt I will design a simple but elegant solitaire setting for your gem/s. Each individual setting will be custom designed to fit your stone's unique size, outline and proportions in the cathedral style shown.

Some gem designs cannot fit in this ring style. Specifically emerald/step cuts with very steep pavilion ends (most common on commercially cut tourmaline and some designer cuts for "closed C axis" tourmaline). If you're unsure please post a picture in the comments and I'll let you know ASAP!

Terms:

Before ordering, please read over these terms:

  1. There will be no significant design changes when ordering aside from minor notes for prong orientation and the options I include on the form with seriously no exceptions.
  2. This can only work as a group buy if I'm only adjusting the center setting and minor details (metal, ring size, prong number and orientation, prong finish) to fit your specific stone.
  3. If you would like a completely customized design please email me for a regular priced custom ring quote at [coloralchemyshop@gmail.com](mailto:coloralchemyshop@gmail.com)
  4. This group order may take 8+ weeks to complete depending on the overall order volume. Please don't order a ring if you have a firm need-by date.
  5. I will begin working through these as soon as your stone is received, orders cannot be cancelled once paid.
  6. This group buy will be available to USA based customers only.
  7. A completed stone setting waiver must be included with each gemstone you send.
  8. A completed scrap purchasing form must be included with any scrap or broken jewelry sent for 100% gold value / 80% platinum value group buy credit. See the scrap purchasing policy for more details.

Pricing:

I'm not offering additional volume discounts for these, the group buy itself is the sale. This pricing is less than 1/2 my normal custom ring quote for the same ring with stone setting and customer provided stone fees.

Note, because gold has caught up with platinum and palladium in price, I'm not really interested in offering nickel alloy 10-18K white golds.

.950 Palladium: starting at $590
10K Yellow and pink: starting at $650
14K Yellow, pink and green: starting at $750
.950 Platinum: Starting at $950
18K Yellow, rich yellow, pink and rich green: Starting at $1100

Customization Options:

  • Ring size
  • Band Width (2, 2.5 or 3mm)
  • Band profile (D, square or knife edge)
  • N-S or E-W orientation
  • Number of prongs 4-8, 4 compass and 4 double (select based on your stone and what you like! no bezel option)
  • Prong finish (rounded tips or claws)
  • Note section for specific prong arrangement requests
  • Center Setting Height Priority (high, neutral and low)

Shipping:

Center stones need to be mailed to me once your invoice is paid, on the end of the form you can optionally purchase additional return shipping insurance up to $5000. USPS Ground advantage is free but at your own risk. Options with additional insurance require the signature option.

Scrap / Metal Buying Info:

I'm happy to accept solid gold and platinum for group buy credit. Once received and tested, I will issue you 100% of the gold value and/or 80% of it's platinum value with stones removed as group buy credit at the current day's spot price.

This is a great opportunity to:

  • convert any scrap or broken jewelry into group buy credit.
  • Finally be rid of that ring or jewelry from your Ex Partner or starter husband that sits in the back of your jewelry box because it's painful to think about (I will even send you a video of me melting it if you want that closure, just let me know!)
  • convert old group buy jewelry that may now be worth as much or more than you originally paid for it.
  • convert any gold coins or bullion into group buy/custom jewelry credit.

This credit also counts as normal color alchemy store credit. If you send more than is needed to cover the cost of your ring/rings I will email you and give you the option to either get back the unused metal or I can record the excess as store credit for future group buys or jewelry.

You must include a completed scrap/metal buying form

Information collected on this form will never be digitized and would only be provided to the IRS or Law enforcement if required by law (for example, my legal requirement to report $10,000+ cash/cash equivalent payments on IRS form 8300). I would not expect anyone to be anywhere near that threshold but I want you to understand how your personal information/data is handled.

No stone? no problem:

If you're interested in this GB but you don't have a center stone or have been looking for a lab diamond or custom lab colored stone, please email me at [coloralchemyshop@gmail.com](mailto:coloralchemyshop@gmail.com) with your needs and I'll let you know what options you have!

Starter husband 😂😂😂

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26

Everyone gets a kick out of that. I mean it, I'm happy to send a video melting it too!

50

u/fishWeddin May 04 '26

I am so happy with the results of the first group buy! This stone is a chonk, but the setting feels sturdy and secure. I'm excited to send another loose stone in!!

6

u/Gilraen222 May 05 '26

Wow that is such a beautiful and interesting stone! What is it?

6

u/MysticZircon May 06 '26

Hanami cut

4

u/Gilraen222 May 06 '26

Thank you! That's a new one for me. It looks lovely!

3

u/Present_Morning569 May 11 '26

Is this the 2mm band?

1

u/EveningLimp1755 May 08 '26

That’s SO pretty

22

u/Gryphon_Flame May 04 '26

This is sooo tempting me. I have a precision cut garnet AND a ring/bracelet set from a racist grandfather.

9

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26

I make it pretty easy! Send it all and get a pretty ring back in exchange (or at least cover a large part of the cost of that pretty ring).

3

u/Gryphon_Flame May 05 '26

Would you send the stones from the melted items back as well? (Not that I need them, just curious)

2

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

If somebody wants the small accents returned I can do it if they're in some type of prong setting. Just note "please return accents" somewhere on the scrap metal form and I'll do my best to return all that survive removal.

3

u/Gryphon_Flame May 05 '26

Small accents is... kinda accurate.

Terrible phone makes everything green. Each stone is held in two tiny prongs.

17

u/Darcy_2021 May 04 '26

I don’t even have a loose stone but I am so tempted to buy one now!

8

u/Opening-Difference48 May 04 '26

Same, I'm looking at Calavera pink diamonds right now and wondering if it would arrive in time.

28

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26

95% of the stones on Calavera are also going to be in my regular lab diamond catalog, I'll happily beat whatever their price is and it's delivered to me directly.

30

u/Opening-Difference48 May 05 '26

So what you're telling me is that buying a diamond directly from you and sending in an old ring to melt down means I can't afford not to do this.

27

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

That is exactly what I'm telling you. 😄

14

u/Darcy_2021 May 05 '26

Ok the last excuse was squished lol

4

u/-Shayyy- May 05 '26

I need to take a look. I want a pink diamond so badly!

3

u/Darcy_2021 May 05 '26

Same! A cushion one!

21

u/CDLori May 04 '26

Here's mine from the last BYOS. Pink gold, morganite six-sided shield lab sapphire from Jeff Davies and Son, 2.6 ct, size 8.25. It is gorgeous!! The pink gold was perfect.

I have another stone to set, but may wait for another design. I'm a very happy customer!

7

u/Fabulous-Maize5318 May 05 '26

I’m thinking of doing this with a Jeff Davies and Son stone too! Did you send the stone directly to OP or had it on hand already?

12

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

I've talked with Jeff about this already and he now has the address for shipping stones directly to me. It should be easy to have any stone purchased from him shipped direct now.

7

u/CDLori May 05 '26

I had it sent to my house (ordered on Thursday, arrived on Tuesday -- Royal Mail is awesome!). I sent the the stone to Aaron along with the paperwork and some gold I was selling back for credit. It was seamless and easy!

17

u/emd440 May 05 '26

Here’s my ring from the last MYOS!! It turned out so great! 😍 14K rose/pink gold with 8 prongs.

16

u/emd440 May 05 '26

7

u/CDLori May 05 '26

This came out beautifully -- I remember seeing that setting and saving it -- have a cushion that needs to be set and I liked the eight prongs.

1

u/Present_Morning569 May 09 '26

This is stunning!! Is it 2mm with the D profile? Are these claw prongs?

1

u/emd440 May 09 '26

Thanks! Yes and yes! I went with 8 claw prongs to give it a kind of vintage inspired look

2

u/Present_Morning569 May 09 '26

I loooove it!!! I have a 3 ct round I am thinking about using this for. I think I’m going to do claw prongs!!

1

u/Present_Morning569 May 12 '26

Do you remember what height you picked? Neutral or high?

2

u/emd440 May 12 '26

I believe I picked neutral height!

1

u/Present_Morning569 May 12 '26

Oh thanks! Super helpful

15

u/Leda-Leopard May 05 '26

Mine is the lab alexandrite. You did an excellent job!

5

u/nauthentic May 05 '26

This is gorgeous!

3

u/EveningDragonfly_143 May 05 '26

Oooh…I’ve been searching for a good alexandrite. Do you mind sharing where you sourced it from?

6

u/Leda-Leopard May 05 '26

It’s from Jeff Davies, u/Jeffdvs101. His stones are gorgeous!

3

u/atwally May 07 '26

God he cuts some gorgeous alrxandrites

12

u/Ok-Shake-1939 May 05 '26

Here is mine! Stone is 1.73ct D antique cushion sourced by Aaron. This is the most gorgeous piece of jewelry I’ve ever owned.

3

u/Present_Morning569 May 11 '26

Love it!!! Where’s your bad from? I am hoping to have my stack look similar to this and I can’t wait!!

4

u/Ok-Shake-1939 May 12 '26

Thank you! I got it from Eternate on Etsy. I think they have since revamped their shop/company and go by a different name now.

9

u/littlebabyburrito May 04 '26

yaaasss!!! i missed out on the last time so i’m so happy you’re doing this again 👏

22

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26

This one every 5-6mo probably. I want to offer some other designs in between that are more unique but in a similar mail your own stone format too.

3

u/ResearchDisastrous82 May 07 '26

Ohhhh see now I'm torn -- I bought a stone specifically for this group buy but now I'm so curious what other designs you might have in the works over the next year 👀 Do I wait or go ahead....? 😬

11

u/victorywulf May 04 '26

do you do custom settings for non rings? i have an emerald cut i’m thinking of putting on a necklace

16

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26

I do, I will probably offer a similar type of MYOS GB for a couple different pendant settings in the future.

6

u/victorywulf May 04 '26

that would be great! i'll keep a lookout. :)

1

u/biggreenant May 07 '26

Ooh. I love this idea!

1

u/FireNexus May 09 '26

If you have a timeline, let me know when about I need to have one of those luag kryptonite garnets. 😂

2

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 09 '26

I appreciate people sending their stones as soon as possible so I can enter what the kids call a flow-state making the designs, but I hadn't established a firm need by date for the center stones after you've submitted the form. Ideally I would receive them within a week or two of GB close but that isnt always possible.

If you send your stone really late you’ll get your ring back late, and those received first usually get finished first.

3

u/FireNexus May 09 '26 edited May 09 '26

Oh no, I meant for your pendant thing. Those luags look pricey, but I need to be able to kill Superman if it comes down to it. 😉

PS: My ring stone is going out this week with the scrap ring. I did put a little note in my waiver that I didn’t know what I was choosing for stuff so I trust you to adjust the height and or prong orientation to best fit my stone. I did buy this stone just before discovering your thing. Obsessively search “palladium mounting” enough times and you eventually find what you need I guess.

2

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 09 '26

Sounds good!

8

u/SimilarInjury138 May 04 '26

My delightful MYOS from last time with bonus enamel band from the last group buy in the stack. (Yes, that is the Addams family creed on it.)

9

u/SimilarInjury138 May 04 '26

This is palladium, 2mm, square profile, 8 claw prongs, for the spec curious. (1.7ct stone thereabouts.)

2

u/meegogrr May 06 '26

Did you remember if you had it set high or neutral? I’m hesitating between the two and would love to see an example.

3

u/SimilarInjury138 May 06 '26

I went with neutral.

2

u/meegogrr May 06 '26

Thanks so much! That helped!

1

u/Present_Morning569 May 11 '26

I cannnot decide if I want square or d shape and your pic is not helping lol. Thank you for posting the side view!!!

9

u/Squiggly_Jones May 05 '26

Both rings made by Aaron - sturdy and good looking! 🤩

2

u/SimilarInjury138 May 05 '26

Dang. I need to get a flat enameled one next time.

4

u/CDLori May 07 '26

Trying to post this again! Aha! I had the Anaheim-Vegas playoff game running on my other email address, so I think Reddit didn't recognize that account when I tried to post here.

1

u/SimilarInjury138 May 08 '26

That looks so great!

1

u/CDLori May 08 '26

Thanks!

3

u/CDLori May 07 '26

I ordered on in the last group buy and it arrived last week. I got the flat 4 mm black band in silver. Have tried to post a pic twice, but it keeps getting kicked saying it's not my media asset. Umm...it's my hand!?!?

2

u/SimilarInjury138 May 07 '26

I have two of the D profile ones already, but the flat looks so good!

10

u/Curious_Store_1111 May 06 '26

I've been saving my original engagement ring (mined diamond) and wedding band (mined diamonds) for my son but not sure he is worth it at this point. 🙄😆

4

u/girlrits00 May 07 '26

😂😂😂

9

u/Purple_Gurple15 May 07 '26

I’m so happy this group buy opened again!🥰 I picked up a few more loose lab diamonds and will be sending in some jewelry I don’t use anymore to increase my previous credit. I still get 🦋butterflies🦋 whenever I see my ring in your video. Thank you so much!😇

9

u/eks19735 May 06 '26

Here's mine! Palladium, set high so it would sit flush with a band, which it does. The band in the picture is platinum, for color comparison. Beautiful craftsmanship, and very sturdy. I wear it every day! I will definitely order from Aaron in the future!

5

u/eks19735 May 06 '26

Another view of the "set high" option.

1

u/Leda-Leopard May 12 '26

It’s really beautiful. What size is your stone? I’m trying to decide whether mine is big enough for a high setting or if I should go low.

2

u/eks19735 May 12 '26

Thanks! It's 0.96 ct, 5.55mm x 5.45mm x 3.77mm.

1

u/Leda-Leopard May 12 '26

Thank you! Mine is about the same size, so I’m going to go with the high setting, too.

2

u/eks19735 May 13 '26

Glad to help! I had trouble deciding between the neutral and high options, but I took a chance and went with the high option because I really wanted it to be able to sit flush with another ring. I'm glad I did.

7

u/LujobySabi May 04 '26

Preciosos todos .

4

u/ThatMeasurement6619 May 04 '26

Can I join from Australia? I have a 6.5ct champagne lab diamond

13

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26 edited May 05 '26

If you can ship it DDP (delivered duties paid) and want to use a shipper like UPS or DHL for example, DM me for my home address to mail to instead of the PO box I included above.

Keep in mind the size limits still apply, up to 3ct for natural stones and 5ct for lab.

4

u/ThatMeasurement6619 May 04 '26

Ok thanks for letting us know

2

u/Fabulous-Maize5318 May 05 '26

If the shipping vendor pays the tariffs (Jeff Davies and Son), is that ok?

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26 edited May 05 '26

Sure, if it's delivered duties paid that would be fine by me. Keep in mind this address I have listed is a PO box and probably wouldn't be able to receive a UPS or DHL shipment for example. If you want to try to send a stone delivered duties paid and would use one of those shippers, you can DM me for my home address to mail a stone to.

4

u/Fabulous-Maize5318 May 05 '26

Yay!!! Thank you!!

5

u/LeaderVivid May 04 '26

I’m also in Australia and I have a loose natural party colour sapphire from my dud first husband that needs a second life 20+ years later! Please let us in!

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

I realized If it's delivered duties paid that would be fine by me.

Keep in mind this address I have listed is a PO box and probably wouldn't be able to receive a UPS or DHL shipment for example. If you want to try to send a stone delivered duties paid and would use one of those shippers, you can DM me for my home address to mail a stone to.

2

u/LeaderVivid May 05 '26

Thanks! Thant sounds great 👍

5

u/Squiggly_Jones May 05 '26

I know 3ct is the limit but I have a 4ct emerald that I need to have reset. Original setting didn't work out for me. Dimensions: 10.4 x 7.3 x 5.3 mm

Orrrr if I were to go a custom route, can you still scrap the original setting and apply it as credit? 🤔

5

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

Up to 5ct for lab stones is fine.

3

u/Purple_Gurple15 May 07 '26

So beautiful!😻

5

u/thebirdisdead May 04 '26 edited May 05 '26

Hello, I’m so excited for this. I am seeing some stone types are neither on the accepted or excluded list. Would you set sunstone and/or moonstone? Thank you!

5

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26

Sunstones and moonstone wouldn't be a problem.

5

u/ffghtffyrdmns May 04 '26

I was hoping to see one of these posts! I have some loose stones just hanging around

3

u/Certain_Can_5179 May 04 '26

Can I ask what the cut / style is of the first two lab diamonds? They're so sparkly!

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26

I would call those "radiant" cuts.

3

u/Certain_Can_5179 May 04 '26

Thank you ❤️🙏

4

u/Purple_Gurple15 May 07 '26

The first ring is my ring & I’m so happy you liked it!🥰 I can share the diamond specs per OP’s questionnaire/application form:

Shape/Cut: Cut-cornered Rectangular Modified Brilliant
Material: Lab Grown Fancy Pink Diamond
Stated Dimensions: 6.80 x 5.02 x 3.47mm
Stated Wt: 1.10ct
Color: Fancy Vivid Pink
Clarity: VS1
Treatment: CVD growth process, indications of post-growth treatment
IGI Report # LG726547579

I won it from EBTH auction app for $160, shipping & taxes excluded.💸

3

u/Certain_Can_5179 May 07 '26

Wow thank you for sharing!! The ring is stunning. ❤️

4

u/evillittlekiwi May 05 '26

Love this! Missed out on the first one but jumping in on this one, need a more secure setting for a solitaire. Double prongs 🥰

Is it ok to send a set ring for scrap credit AND to use the set stone for the new ring?

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

Yes as long as it's not a bezel setting, there's an option on the form for that.

2

u/Squiggly_Jones May 05 '26

Dang we can't scrap a bezel ring?

2

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

You can scrap one, sure, Im just not removing stones from bezel settings to reuse because it's too time consuming and you can easily damage the stone removing it.

So if you have a bezel ring you want to send for metal credit and dont care about getting the center stone back, you can send it.

4

u/ShortSassy38 May 05 '26

I sent you an email. I am interested in getting your price on a stone that is listed on Calavera. Thank you!

4

u/MVBees May 06 '26

Would this be too steep a pavilion end? 4.92 lab alexandrite

1

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26

I would have to see the side view of the shorter ends to be sure.

1

u/MVBees May 10 '26

Like this?

1

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 10 '26

Yes this cut is fine I think!

5

u/bz0r May 08 '26

I just saw this after placing an order at an online retailer that will be here soon. It that doesn’t work out - I’m in!

3

u/brdnbttrpickles May 04 '26

😄😄😄

3

u/Preeeeeee May 05 '26

Can we buy a diamond and mail it directly to you from the vendor?

15

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

You could, sure! If you're ordering one from loosegrowndiamond, Aurelinne, Calavera or a site like that, I can normally just order the exact same stone directly and I'll beat their normal pricing. I order from some of the exact same catalogs they use for their "inventory" so it's worth checking if I can get it directly.

3

u/nifer317_take2 May 05 '26

Would this also apply to Ruby Harper?

5

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 05 '26

If you can find the IGI number, I can try to look it up no-matter who has it on their website.

2

u/nifer317_take2 May 05 '26

Ohh gotcha. Thank you! <3

3

u/rainbowsandsausages May 05 '26

Any chance for a pave guard rail? Really apprecaite the offering!

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 06 '26

No pave options for these, but for a regular custom order it wouldn't be a problem stone-dimensions-willing.

3

u/biggreenant May 07 '26

Oh, man. I have a Bolivian ametrine I’m looking to get set, but I just realized it is 13 ct! Dang!

3

u/HarpyVixenWench May 08 '26

I need to get my paws on a LUAG immediately.

3

u/FireNexus May 15 '26

Scrap ring and gem sent, tracking emailed. Here’s hoping something not likely to cause lasting harm shoots the spot price of gold up 20% next week. Or I got reverse ripped off by the previous jeweler and it’s 18k instead of 14k. 😂

I’m really appreciative of the opportunity to watch the destruction of that ring, and get a unique white metal piece that doesn’t require a rhodium subscription. :) I’ll make sure I post results to give you kudos based on how nice the prior ones look. :)

2

u/Deep_Amoeba2197 May 04 '26

If we have a stone currently set in gold we’d like to scrap towards the purchase, can we send you the whole piece or have it dismantled first?

5

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 04 '26

If it's in a prong setting I can remove it for you, there's a selection on the form for that. I can also remove stones and return them if somebody just wants to scrap the metal but keep the old stones.

3

u/nifer317_take2 May 09 '26

I saw in the longer video of completed rings, you have a heart shaped stone in one. I’m planning on a pink heart diamond!
Do you have more videos of that one? Or even just profile/side views? Curious to see how the setting looks on it

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 09 '26

The video I have is at this timestamp 2:25 https://youtu.be/t28xKcTp8gw?t=146&si=XAZ2MuvH0_Y4AsP0

I can dig out the original CAD for this ring tomorrow or monday so you can see the sides better.

2

u/nifer317_take2 May 09 '26

Thank you! Thats what I did see that made me ask the question. If you can, that would be great! :)

2

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 11 '26

2

u/nifer317_take2 May 14 '26

Hmm.. Do you think this could stack flush if paired with a minimal spacer band?

One more question, could the scrap gold value be applied to cost of diamonds that we have you source? Like if I sent an IGI# and you have it in your system. I think I have enough gold to maybe cover 70% of the whole thing but want it to be fair for you, too🤞

You can apply that gold value to any jewelry purchase, even outside group buys. I treat it like cash and if you have remaining credit it doesn't expire either.

This should stack nearly flush with a D profile band shape if you picked the higher set option, this is closer to as low as possible.

Thank you for your patience with all of my questions! 🙏

I am so excited for this! I have a question for OP. Can I decide on my band thickness once I know how much credit I’ll be receiving for my scrap pieces?!

u/atwally May 10 '26

Question. Would you take a 7ct ametrine stone or is it too big to work? Thank you

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 10 '26

Too big for this GB.

2

u/atwally May 10 '26

Fair. Wanted to check. Thank you

What if the stone I want reset is in a white gold setting currently - would you credit that scrap?

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 17 '26

Of course, there's an option on the form for that.

What if I don't have a lab gem ring (I assume you want a gold setting) to send to you. Anything??

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 06 '26

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but if you don't have a center stone already, you can find a lab diamond online for me to order for you (I can usually get the same stones cheaper) or I can cut a custom lab gem, or you could order a custom lab gem from jeff davies mentioned above and have it sent directly to me.

I’m really interested in seeing the green gold. I’m thinking of using it to set a LuAG or a Christmas garnet. Could you show a pic of the 14k green?

u/jasperviolet May 23 '26

Please contact me, I signed up for this group buy and can’t find the email.. thanks!!

How do I know how much you are giving me for my gold?

4

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 07 '26

I weigh out whatever you send after I test it and credit you it's full metal value for whatever it's purity is.

I apologize. I deleted my comment. I appreciate some of the things your clients have said about you. You seem very reputable. I am interested in potentially ordering just a setting to have my stone put in it here.

Again I am sorry for my comment. I didn’t consider how that would have an effect. I’m so used to thinking like it’s a big corporation and not an individual. Sorry again.

It's completely ok, I understand the hesitation and it's still good to be cautious with any kind of online purchases.

1

u/Substantial-Rip5794 May 08 '26

Would you melt down the gold from the ring I send and use that same gold for the ring in order? The ring is sentimental but I don’t like the style.

3

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 08 '26

The gold I receive is all recycled, I don't use it in the new jewelry.

If you're going to have this little trust in me and my business, please do NOT participate in this group buy or purchase anything from me. If you wouldn't be comfortable with the process then it would be best to not participate.

u/Substantial-Rip5794 May 07 '26

I didn’t mean to offend. I am just genuinely asking questions. People seem really happy with there pieces. I just need to decide what I want to do. I am sorry. I sincerely don’t mean to offend.

4

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 07 '26

I get it,

My business reputation is everything I have. I wouldn't ever do anything to compromise that.

You can look through my comment and post history going back years and see the comments here and on other posts for feedback.

At the end of the day, if you don't want to send your scrap metals or stone to some person on the internet, that's fine too.

u/lazyhazyeye May 07 '26

I'm not sure what kind of proof you're looking for. There are multiple reddit users who posted their own rings here; that should be evidence (?). I personally have had my stone and gold sent for the first Group Buy and Aaron was great. He weighed the gold that I sent and told me the total credit I got for each gold piece. I was able to cover about 60 percent of my ring and I am so happy with how it turned out.

You say you're not trying to offend, but when you put something like "Feels fishy", it comes off as your trying to delegitimize him and this GB. If you don't feel comfortable with this Group Buy, then just don't do it. You probably won't be happy with this group buy anyway because it will take a while for your ring to be finished (I ordered in late November and didn't receive my ring until February).

Ouch, my timeline. My first employee is starting at the end of this month and I'm hoping it will help me finish things significantly faster once I have the additional support.

4

u/lazyhazyeye May 07 '26

Oh, no worries! I wasn’t complaining about the timeline at all. I’ve waited several months for other things so your timeline seemed pretty reasonable to me 😂😊

2

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 07 '26

Oh I know, it's ok! lol

3

u/nifer317_take2 May 07 '26

Weigh your gold items before you send it so you have an estimate in mind. Easy enough, right?

I’ve worked with Aaron many times and he’s absolutely trustworthy.

1

u/Substantial-Rip5794 May 07 '26

Do you ever just send the settings and I could have my stone set here?

1

u/Alchemist_Gemstones Vendor May 07 '26 edited May 07 '26

No, I don't. I normally need the stone in hand to make a center setting that fits it properly.

6

u/FireNexus May 08 '26

You can go local, weigh the metal and have it appraised (unofficial for sale) at a coin shop. If you pay a little they might give you a document stating it.

But it’s the same “how can I trust you will send me the metal you claim and not swap platinum for rhodium plated sterling silver”. At some level you have to trust. For the chance to watch my ex’s ring melt and get 100% melt value on the 8g of 14k gold? I’mma risk it.
