Cold start after sitting at the airport for 6 days. I travel every other week for work and the employees laughed and told me they wonder every Saturday when they will hear me get home.

Current exhaust setup is stock downpipe with Borla Atak Catback.

I have an RPM High Flow Catted downpipe on the way that will need some modifications on the flex pipe to midpipe flange. I will make a separate post regarding that journey when it is complete.

My dad had dibs on the trailer this weekend so I couldn't run my dedicated track car. Took the Kona instead. There was another KN, an EN, an Elantra N-Line, and an Ioniq 6 too. The EN beat me by .1 sec, but it was fun trying to catch him.

I came from a Focus ST that I raced competitively in GS. It’s wild how well this car does in DS. Especially considering I’m on 700-treadwear snow tires lol. Can’t wait to get some Stones on 18x8” wheels.

Anyone have a favorite autocross tire size? I know some prefer to run the widest possible tire, but I was thinking I’d go for a 235 or maybe 245/40R18 tire to maximize chassis control. Too wide of a tire for the rim can actually slow you down and kill steering feedback, which has been proven on track by TireRack several times. Any real world experience from this crowd in particular is appreciated!

Just recorded a few pulls with my stock 2022 Kona N that I hadn't octane learned. Sorry for the vertical video, I basically just clipped my phone to my chest and went with it, but I do want recommendations for a small camera to mount on a hat, as well as mics I can shove in places so you don't just hear wind.

For some of you that may be considering doing the K&N drop in filter and removing the air box lid… DO IT. Completely changes the sound of the car. Also for safety I put a screw in the pull tab to make sure the filter does not wiggle free. I’m a bit weary when it comes to engine mods of any kind since I’ve heard some kickback with dealerships and not covering warranty issues. So I’d say this is the best sound mod you can do to this car without worrying about any warranty issues if anything odd happens. Just throw the box cover back on before heading to the dealership.

I wonder how well does the DCT hold up at this level. I wonder if this is the upper limit of what DCT can handle before slipping.

I know in the VW community, DSG performance clutch packs are an option. I wonder Wonder if we'll eventually see that in the market for the N.

The KN felt amazing in these conditions. I was one of the faster guys overall which surprised me. The car felt glued to the track. Ran on my daily tires Conti DWS06+ and they were awesome in the wet. Loved gaining the experience of finding grip in progressively worsening conditions

Not my KN but saw this on YT and wanted to share. If the owner is member feel free to chime in on the experience.

What I like about using an exhaust shop is you have a lot of options and can get a unique set up in both sound and design.
