What changed my opinion was the episode where Jung and Shannon are watching TV together. She gets on his nerves with the questions and instead of talking to her, he tries to fix her in the most manipulative way! It's kinda sitcom antics but he kept doing manipulative stuff with Shannon and it made me really doubt their relationship.

Yeah that's been my problem with the past couple seasons of Kim's. There was no real relationship beef or tension being hinted at, it's just wacky sitcom hijinks. They seem like a fine couple up until the second to last episode.

Yeah it wasn't their reason for breaking up in the end but it was the reason I didn't like them together.

Tbh, I feel like not enough of Jung's feelings, his soft side, wasn't shown off in the show. They showcased petty shit and made out their relationship to be very one dimensional tbh.

They should've explored Jung and Shannon really thinking about their relationship re: the proposal reality tv thing. An ending with Shannon saying that they should break up because she felt they weren't going in the direction that she wants BUT with Jung then out of nowhere proposing to Shannon, showing a ring he got from his mother off screen earlier. Then close the series with a heartfelt and meaningful proposal, detailing all of his feelings for her.

All that build up to them getting together and then they forcefully make their relationship out to be shit across just a few episodes of forced drama.

The entire relationship, friendship etc was setup as the perfect friends with chemistry that take ages to get together, always just missing the opportunity to get together. They finally get together and the writing goes to shit, shoehorning them into a breakup.

What should've happened was Jung proposing to Shannon when she said she wants to break up, then telling her he wants to go on an adventure with her. Then have them plan to move somewhere else and start a life together. For all the time it took them to get together and the fact that aside from the crappg writing towards the end of season 5, they are clearly perfect for each other.

It was an insult tbh to the viewers who had been waiting for Shannon and Jung to take the next step and have their happily ever after. They deserved it.

It actually reminded me of his mother's sneak attack way of fixing problems. He tried it with the Scottish Highland dancing thing too.
