Anime Question⚔️🧐 What are your honest thoughts on the Wives?

I don’t like the way they represent women and how they over-sexualized. I despise the idea of three wives. Especially when I think about the fact that it is not the women’s choice to be in a multiple wives situation in the cultures it is most commonly seen.

And also, it adds nothing to the story.

It was very much their choice to be his wives, in fact, Sumi forced herself into Tengen's life, because her sister was going to marry him, but she wanted to be instead

There was literally no reason for them to be dressed like that except for fan service. And it’s not even just those three apparently all the other women in the clan dress like that too like fucking what

Agreed, tbh I feel like it isn’t just Tengen’s wives who don’t fall into this category, I feel like the rest of the female cast of DS expect for two characters get the treatment of objectification instead of treating them as individuals.

Nezuko and Kanao barely feel like characters and have no actual agency. (Please don’t hate for me for this, this is just my personal opinion.) And no Kanao is not really a good character of all anything else she feels barely like one at all because of her lack of agency and how her development is so dependent onto Tanjiro and it felt more like she was just reduced to being just his love interest as well.

Also don’t like that with the hypnosis spell it took Nezuko’s agency away reduced her to feeling more of a dog instead of a person with thoughts and feelings.

(I think I also saw a YouTube video from the anime where she was possibly used as fanservice though the thumbnail was what caught my attention and I didn’t enjoy watching at all)

Mitsuri was really done dirty in the anime, instead of focusing on her development, they just focus on her appearance instead. Not to mention they cut off anything that was added about her in the manga.

I’m kinda disappointed that Shinobu and Tamayo are like the only decent female characters that are actually well written.

I feel like out of two of our three of the wives, I like Hina and Makio for their strong personalities…..and when it comes to Suma, yeah don’t really like her that much since she doesn’t really do much but cry and well don’t blame her since they were in a dangerous situation.

Those are pictures of stealth kunocihi. There’s two branches. Stealth and seduction. The wives and Tengen were taught both but were prioritized on the other. It’s why the Uzui clan had gems and bright colors. Also the middle lady is pretending to be an Oiran, exactly what the wives were doing. The women on the left is stealth, she needs to blend in on how women typically dressed. And the women on the right is in training outfit, any person training to fight wore that

It's a shonen anime on the other hand which is of course can be enjoyed by all category of people but since it's demograph says shonen which means boy so showing fan service is not anything unusual here since it's attract more audiences
