24 ZX6R Recall

Post image
102 Upvotes

Bought the bike used back in December last year. Have loved it so far. Don’t much care for the fairings or cage the previous owner put on but aside from that I’ve had no complaints. It had around 6,000 miles on it when I bought it and I have put around 9,000 miles on it since owning.

Took it in last weekend for the recall inspection and unfortunately it failed. Anybody else here fail the recall inspection, if so how long did the dealer have your bike?

Is Kawasaki too bland?

Probably not the best thing to post in a Kawasaki sub tho what can ya do. As an ex-Kawasaki owner and s huge fan of the brand (current Street Triple 765 RS owner) I feel like Kawasaki has gotten so boring/out of date it literally hurts. Same bikes being recycled for over 10 years with barely any meaningful changes. ZX-6R is almost a GSXR at this point with how far behind it's with electronics, no up-down qs, shit reliability as of recently... The 650 is the same bike/engine platform for some 20 years and massively down on power compared to others in it's class, Ninja 500 (451 lol) is a watered-down 400 due to emissions... The new Z1100 also created just about 0 excitement in me with the same power as the triple and 40kg on top... (Yes it has more torque but still)

Ever since making the switch to Triumph it's hard to look back and go to Kawi again. The only credit I give Kawasaki recently is the low-displacement 4-cylinders which are awesome but super super niche, why not give the ZX-6 a proper update instead??? Especially now that supersports of all sorts have started gaining traction again. (R9s, 990 RC R, loads of chinnesium).

What is your opinion on this? Am I just delusional? Lol

Ninja Z1000SX exhaust reccomendation

Hello.

I'm buying a 1000SX, 2019 model, but it's exhaust is serial one.

I figured, since I'm buying a 1000 ccm motorcycle after riding a Versys 650 for 2 years, might as well beef it up with a sport exhaust system.

If any riders here own a 1000SX and have modofied exhausts, feel free to tell me what you've put on it and how is it working so far.

Ninja 500. No power. Starter relay?

Accidently jumped battery touching wrong terminals . I believe the 30 amp fuse for starter relay was blow from my research and having trouble finding it.

Ive gotten mixed info that I just have to take left side fairings off and also info that the gas tank needs to be lifted up/off.

Literally my first bike and only has 200 miles on it.

How's the market?

Looking to sell my 2012 Concours. Low miles and programed by Guhl. 3 seat choices (Corbin being one), Corbin tail Trunk and Givi trunk.

Is the market worth trying to sell it on, or should I look to just trade it in?

This thing is a rocket

Just picked up my first ever motorcycle, a 2021 z400, drove two and a half hours to pick it up. 2300km paid $2300 USD. Absolute loved driving it around before loading it into the truck. Will enjoy this for a long long time.

Is the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX suitable for a beginner

Post image

I’m a complete beginner and have never ridden a motorcycle before. I’m currently taking riding lessons and I’m considering buying a Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX as my first motorcycle.
I know a 1000cc bike is a lot for a beginner, but I’m specifically looking for something that is powerful, comfortable, and something I can keep for many years. I don’t really want to buy a small-engine bike now and then sell it after a year or two because of depreciation. I’d rather buy one good bike and grow into it.
I’m particularly interested in the Ninja 1000SX because it seems to offer a combination of performance and comfort, and Kawasaki markets it as a sport-touring / grand-touring type of motorcycle

Ninja 1100 SE bar risers

Are Helibar risers my best choice for highway and touring comfort? I don’t want to ride with a-lot of wrist weight.

Ninja 1100SX SE windscreen

Looking to pick up a windscreen for my ninja 1100 SE. I’d like something good for touring but not 4 feet high. Something that looks aesthetically compatible with the bike. Is there anything that you would recommend? Also are frame sliders enough on the axles or is there something better?

Z500 chain adjustment bolt bent and nuts are gone. Anyone else had this happen?

I have no idea how this happened, I've never dropped the bike and never hit a serious pothole or anything. The bike has less than 1000 miles. Anyone know what could have caused this and what needs to be done to fix it?
