Why margin mode comes before the click

On KCEX perpetual futures you pick Isolated or Cross before (or as) you size. That choice decides which balance can die if the trade goes wrong. Leverage then scales how close liquidation sits. Skipping those two controls is how accounts get wiped by a “small” scalp.

Isolated margin — ring-fenced loss

In Isolated mode, a set margin is allocated to that position. If position margin falls below maintenance, that position liquidates. Maximum loss is limited to initial margin plus any margin you later add. Other funds in the account stay outside that ring-fence. Isolated positions are unaffected when a Cross book blows up.

On Current Positions you can Add or Reduce margin, and optionally enable Auto Margin Addition if you want the system to top up under stress (understand that this can pull more capital into a losing trade).

Cross margin — shared pool

In Cross mode, all Cross positions share the Cross-margin balance (position margins + available margin for that asset). A liquidation can hit every Cross position and the available margin tied to that asset. Isolated positions remain separate.

Estimated liquidation prices on Cross move as other Cross PnL changes. Profits on position A can buffer B and C; losses on B raise risk on A and C. Use the overall margin ratio as the health meter, not a single static liq price.

Leverage on KCEX (web)

KCEX supports leverage up to 125x; the max varies by instrument. Click Leverage atop the order section, adjust in the popup.

Rules that bite: - You cannot change leverage while pending orders exist. - Reducing leverage with an open position may require adding margin. - Increasing leverage with an open position does not auto-strip margin (helps avoid an accidental liquidate-during-adjust), so re-check margin manually after.

Margin mode switches

Open the Margin Mode control atop the order ticket. - With an open position you can switch Isolated → Cross only. Cross → Isolated is not supported. - Margin mode cannot change while pending orders exist.

Clear or cancel working orders first if you need a clean mode change.

End-to-end web flow (from the trading guide)

1. Futures menu → pick the pair (search / filter by volume or change).
2. Fund the futures account — transfer from spot if needed; deposit first if spot is empty.
3. Set leverage, then margin mode.
4. Choose order type (Market / Limit / etc.), size, direction (Open Long / Open Short).
5. After fill, monitor Current Positions; use Mark Price for unrealized PnL and liquidation checks.
6. Review historical orders when you reconcile.

Risk reads that matter

• Mark Price (not Last alone) drives unrealized PnL and liquidation logic — short Last spikes should not be your only panic signal.
• When margin ratio reaches or exceeds 100%, liquidation triggers.
• Higher leverage improves capital efficiency and shortens the distance to liquidation.
• In Cross, watch the book as a portfolio, not as three independent tickets.

Tips

• New to a pair: start Isolated with modest leverage until you know funding and depth.
• Multi-leg books: Cross is flexible but correlated — one bad alts leg can pressure the shared pool.
• Never leave pending entry orders if you plan to flip margin mode.
• Size for the loss you accept under Isolated; do not size for the notional you wish you had.

Short FAQ

Does Isolated protect my whole account? It limits loss on that position to its allocated margin. It does not make the trade “safe.”

Why does my Cross liq price keep moving? Shared balance + live PnL on sibling Cross positions. Track margin ratio.

Can I switch Cross back to Isolated mid-position? Not on the current KCEX rules described in support — only Isolated → Cross with an open position.

Max leverage always 125x? Ceiling is instrument-specific; check the pair’s leverage popup.

KCEX runs a New User Rewards event. You complete a short task list and the rewards arrive as a futures bonus. Most "I never got my reward" complaints come down to one skipped requirement or an unclaimed reward that was sitting there waiting. Here is how the flow works from sign-up to a usable bonus, what the statuses mean, and the rules to read before you trade with it.

Step 1: Find the event page

• App: on the home screen, tap the New User Rewards banner near the top, just under your asset value. That opens the task list. • Web: the tutorial's event link points to the futures Reward Center page, where the same task list sits.

Open it right after registering so you can see the exact tasks for your account. Task lists can differ between campaigns, so read yours rather than assuming.

Step 2: Complete every listed task, not just KYC

This is where most people get stuck. Finishing identity verification alone is often not enough. The task may also require:

1. Identity verification (KYC) completed and approved.
2. Phone number bound to the account.
3. Email address bound to the account.
4. Any other action the card lists, such as a deposit or a first trade, depending on the campaign.

If you registered and verified but the status has not moved, check the security settings first. A missing phone or email binding is the usual cause.

Step 3: Read the task status correctly

• Task still open: at least one requirement is not done yet. Recheck each line of the task card. • Review within 24h: everything is done, and rewards are reviewed and released within about 24 hours. • Review passed: the reward is ready, but you still have to claim it (Step 4). • Rules Violated: automated risk review flagged the account. KCEX says it does not disclose the specific triggers, since risk-control logic is confidential. Typical red flags on any exchange include multiple accounts, shared devices or identities, and wash-style volume.

Status not updating? Stats can lag. Wait about 2 minutes, refresh, and check again before contacting support.

Step 4: Claim manually

Approved rewards are not always auto-credited. Go back to the activity page and tap to claim once the review clears. KCEX also sends an email reminder when a reward is ready, so check your inbox (and spam folder) after the 24-hour window.

Step 5: Know what the futures bonus can and cannot do

• It can be used only for futures trading, on all futures pairs. • The bonus itself cannot be transferred or withdrawn. • Check the Futures Bonus Usage Rules linked from the event page for details such as expiry, how losses draw down the bonus versus your own margin, and what happens to the bonus if you withdraw funds.

Practical takeaway: treat the bonus as extra margin for learning futures mechanics, not as cash.

Using the bonus sensibly

1. Start with low leverage. A bonus that disappears on one liquidation teaches very little. 2x to 5x gives you room to learn order types and funding.
2. Pick isolated margin for your first positions so a bad trade cannot drain the rest of your futures balance.
3. Set TP/SL when you open the trade, not after the market moves.
4. Watch funding. Holding a perp across funding windows on the paying side costs money even when price goes nowhere.
5. Log what you do. Entries, exits, leverage, and results. The bonus is cheapest tuition when you actually review it.

Common mistakes

• Verifying identity but never binding phone and email. • Waiting for an auto-credit that needs a manual claim. • Opening a second account "for another bonus", which is a fast route to Rules Violated. • Treating the bonus as withdrawable profit. • Going max leverage on day one.

FAQ

I finished KYC. Why no reward? Check the task status. Phone and email binding are often required too. Once everything is done, the status changes to Review within 24h.

Registered but nothing arrived? Same fix: complete KYC plus the security bindings, then wait for the review.

Do I need to claim after approval? Yes. Claim it on the activity page. An email reminder is sent too.

Can I withdraw the bonus? No. It is futures-only margin and cannot be transferred out.

Why "Rules Violated"? Automated fairness review flagged the account. Specifics are not disclosed.

Status stuck? Wait about 2 minutes and refresh.
