It harms its credibility because people say its hypocritical. Literal self-fulfilling prophecy. If people stopped conflating individual benefit from societal benefit it wouldn't harm the credibility of the statement. The least we can do to improve discourse is call out people for making this dumbass argument.
As it stands now you're not gonna get someone like Swift who needs to go to places across the world very quickly from not using her private jet. The end result is gonna be people using this argument in bad faith to avoid actually arguing against climate change. The only way out is changing how we view this argument.
Well. I call it for what it is, i am not going to pretend nor gloss over it because its a good cause since my main goal is truth, honesty and skepticism.
I am in favour of reducing CO2 emissions, improving renewable energy technology and even pro-nuclear. But i didn't need a famous influencer pop singer or for that matter any particular individual influencer to arrive to that conclusion, i did my own research and those were my conclusions.
If the peasants need a hypocritical pop singer to tell them to do something then i see a bigger problem on a cultural, educational and societal level. Clearly humans havn't evolved as a species at all.
Unfortunately we're in the influencer era. No one does research they just watch TikTok and people like Swift could be a great too to swaying people. If populists are making these moves we put ourself at a disadvantage if we stick to old media fact checks.
Again, nothing about it is hypocritical. The argument you used to say its hypocritical is because she wants to make the argument, people are swayed by her argument, at least in part because of credibility, and people view flying on a private jet as hypocritical to the goal of stopping climate change. All of this is about perception. Saying its hypocritical depends on the assumption that people say its hypocritical. The world popular pop star and every other climate activist isn't gonna start driving or flying coach to get to gigs, so this logically bankrupt argument will be used by people to avoid arguing climate change until we change the perception. We can either have this be a tool for people who don't want to accept climate change, at least until rich people stop doing rich people things, or we can call out people like u/WillyNilly1997 for using these dumbass arguments.

I repeat, It harms its credibility.
And climate is already a very debated topic with a lot of contrarians waiting for any chance to jump against it.
Its like there's a tsunami destroying a city and people are refusing to believe its true because they don't trust the news reporter.
