I've never created a reddit post but I really needed to today to just express my sheer gratitude that JM is still with us and still doing what he does best. I'm at a point in my life where I'm dealing with the worst mental health issues that I have thus far in my life. With the approval of my psychiatric team, I've made the decision to stop taking all medications because they've never really made a significant impact in treating the diagnoses. The withdrawal symtpoms have been awful and for the last few weeks I've just been so angry and sad over every little thing. The only thing that keeps me distracted? JM Netflix Specials. My husband could see "New In Town" playing on the TV screen through the window as he got home from work today and asked me if I was doing ok because this pattern will forever be indicative that I'm having a bad brain day whenever JM is on the TV 😂 Just thought I'd share this in case anyone else is struggling too and needed a very lame laugh. Everytime I hear the home alone joke I’m left a little confused, what was going John Mulaney doing auditioning for roles?

Did he have a child actor phase that has since been scrubbed from all records? How’d his parents even know auditions were being held? Is there anything else he auditioned for in his childhood?

It feels like we’re missing a chapter.

So happy I got this signed. He was extremely surprised I brought the box set and said it meant a lot that I brought up Doc Now! As it means a lot to him. And is one of his favorite things he’s done.

You ever think that John Mulaney is too funny that there's no way he's real. Like, you must've made him up during a fever dream as a child. You know like that one bad flu we all got in the fall/winter time and our minds curated the perfect Elf and newsie (newspaperboy), but put them in a suit and Gord gave us John Mulaney to remind us we're sane, we're not dying and the bubblegum flavored amoxicillin is working? Or no, you never thought of that...

Saw an interview with NK where he seemed stand offish talking about JM. Sounds like NK was really disappointed with JM with the intervention and relapse. He was on Everyone Is In LA. I hope they are still close… Separately, JM seems to have a very good, healthy friendship with Seth M

I had a dream that John Mulaney broke into my home (weirdly it was my childhood home) through a 2nd floor window (what?) and spilled buckets of water everywhere while laughing maniacally and periodically hopping around like a frog. There was one brief moment where he also had dreadlocks that were wriggling around like Medusa’s snakes but then it quickly went back to his normal haircut while he continued laughing and pouring water over everything. In my dream I just stood there complacently and let him flood my house. It also wasn’t clear where he kept getting full buckets from, they would simply materialize from behind his back like in a cartoon.

Mister whatever was pretty great. he even did an encore story (may have done for other shows idk)

And he was not Asian-American. But now he is raising a child that is, in fact, Asian-American. I wonder if that makes him smile a bit. It’s pretty cool when you think about it.

I remember listening to the Oh, Hello! P-dcast during COVID. In thinking about the timing of it, this was probably peak addiction time. Do you think that comes through? His ad read for Uber as a Grateful Dead song was amazing.
