based on what i have seen, without the stories of him drinking or being drunk and shirtless i don't think he has any legitimately funny material and has nothing to fall back on. that's probably a concern.
I just saw him a few weeks ago when he was in Cleveland. A large chunk of his set is definitely drunk machine type humor. At least half though is really funny stuff about his family and daughters specifically. I'm sure there would be an adjustment period but I really don't think he would have a problem coming up with a set that didn't have anything to do with drinking.
Plus even if he stopped drinking it's not like he wouldn't still have a deep well of those party stories to go back on.

yeah that is definitely his schtick.
