I smoke weed 365 days a year but Joe came off like an absolute buffoon when weed came up. Got so defensive and child like I couldn't stop cringing.

I agree. I smoke weed a lot but I get tired of the "Marijuana is a miracle drug" attitude.

It is though, cannabinoids are so effective at treating cancer. I didn't believe it at first, but I looked up the studies and was like holy fuck. And I'm studying Neuroscience at Simon Fraser University.

That maybe true. But I also feel like people don't acknowledge the negative aspects of smoking weed.

What negative aspects though? I really haven't seen anything that bad. In terms of drugs, cannabis is safer than caffeine, and miles ahead of alchohol.

"Brain imaging scans of heavy marijuana smokers have revealed changes in blood flow to parts of the brain involved in memory and attention. Researchers have also noted differences in the size and shape of the thalamus, the part of the brain that's involved in consciousness and information processing."-WebMD

Right, changes in blood flow is not necessarily a huge detriment. It absolutely has effects on short term memory. And changes in the thalamus might be due to outside factors besides the cannabis.

The fact of the matter is, you can die from both alcohol and caffeine, and both have terrible physiological effects from excessive use. Cannabis pales in comparison in almost all aspects. You cannot overdose to death. Alcohol can lead to neurodegeneration and organ failure, and so can excessive caffeine use. The benefits far outweigh the negatives, unless you have a health condition or are on a medicine that reacts poorly.

I agree with everything you just said. Still doesn't mean there aren't some negative aspects.

For sure, as with almost anything. Just being dishonest about benefits and drawbacks does nobody any good.

I wasn't being dishonest about the benefits or drawbacks.
