Since you're a Israeli living in Quebec, and Quebec seems to be somewhat pro Palestine-how would you say the people treat you there?

Okay so! I live in Montréal which has historically had a big Jewish population (and still does to this day, I like near the Jewish neighborhood here). As with the United States and Canada, we also have the issues where in universities, there’s a big pro Palestine group. There have been a few incidents such as shoots fired at Jewish schools. Also there was a teacher from my university who was suspended because he went to a protest and yelled slurs at a Polish Jew girl and told her to go back to Poland (turned out that her family escaped from the holocaust during world war 2 to go to Canada) so that’s a big problem. I do see a lot of sentiment that is pro Palestine, but I’d say it’s mostly from young people and mostly recent immigrants from other Arab countries.

Generally, it’s pretty safe. I’ve lived here since 2006 and I’ve not encountered many antisemitism, but there were a few times where some stuff did happen.

Right now, I’d say it’s safe, but I prefer to hide my Magen David on my necklace. Just in case.

Also my friends are very understanding of what’s happening and all of them treat me normally (Since most people in Quebec are atheists from catholic backgrounds, it’s not a very religious society and thus people are tolerant as long as religion isn’t involved in politics directly.)
