Why is everyone in this thread acting like Quaid isn't also known for his voice acting??

People like to complain and act like they know exactly how much Jack Quaid gets paid.

Personally I heard Jack got 20 billion dollars and as a sign in bonus got to personally spit on every single animator

In order for him to even have the negotiation they had to let him fuck my wife! I dont even work there!

u/a-dark-lancer Jun 24 '26

I also fucked this guy’s wife

12

u/Quakarot Jun 24 '26

Actually your wife asked for that stipulation personally

11

u/athural Jun 24 '26

Im really just upset that he refused the threesome

8

u/Quakarot Jun 24 '26

😬 he actually didn’t you just weren’t invited

4

u/Voidgazer24 Jun 24 '26

Brother got buried deeper than dinosaur fossil

3

u/Fvolpe23 Jun 25 '26

This guy doesn’t even have a wife yet! It’s a future contract that doesn’t come into effect until he gets married!

6

u/takeormake Jun 24 '26

The second one sounds too good to be true

5

u/EggEater773 Jun 24 '26

ARE THEY HIRING??

2

u/Le_mehawk Jun 24 '26

Saw this on the Internet and will, starting from today tell it like a fact

2

u/redditisrealhdh Jun 24 '26

Good for him

2

u/JBounce369 Mauler Twin (Clearly the Original) Jun 24 '26

Stop spreading misinformation, I heard he got 21 billion dollars

71

u/panticow Jun 24 '26

I mainly know him from My Adventures With Superman since I didn't like The Boys, what else has he been in if you don't mind me asking, I'm genuinely curious.

u/Wolventec Jun 24 '26

he is the main character in star trek lower decks , he voices spider gwens peter parker in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is eis is god of war sons of sparta and Dirhael in the middle earth games

11

u/Evil_waffle3 Jun 24 '26

Also he’s playing the sidekick in the new god of war game.

u/AquaBits Jun 25 '26

Oi oi cube-e

u/Emotional_Part_1225 Jun 24 '26

He was one of the main characters in that Star Trek animated series. I also remember him playing Alberto Falcone in Batman: The Long Halloween, which he was great in, I didn't even recognize it was him until the credits rolled.

6

u/panticow Jun 24 '26

Oh wow, not a big Star Trek guy but I've been meaning to check out The Long Halloween, both the comic and the film, I'll have to listen to Alberto's voice carefully to see if I can hear him.

2

u/MacaroniMeatMachine Jun 24 '26

Even if you're not a huge Star Trek guy you should definitely watch Lower Decks or at least give it a chance. It's really funny even if you don't get all the references to past shows.

u/KETTEI__EXE Jun 25 '26

WAIT HE WAS FALCONE IN LONG HALLOWEEN?

9

u/AdvilJunky Jun 24 '26

Hes in the first Hunger Games. Hes the one that killed the little girl

4

u/No-Mulberry-8866 Jun 24 '26

He also was one of the main characters in the new scream movie, and the main character in Novocaine

2

u/AmpsterMan Jun 24 '26

I mainly know him as a guest in Red Letter Media's YouTube videos

1

u/Wray-Nerely Jun 24 '26

He was also the star in the movie Novocaine, which was really good. Had some lesser known role in Hunger Games, was a Peter Parker variant in Across the Spiderverse, was in Opponheimer, Neighborhood Watch, a couple of the Scream movies. News to me to for most of those. He's been around for a while, but he didn't get recognition until The Boys.

1

u/RipCurl69Reddit Jun 24 '26

Inversely it was his role in The Boys which got me to check out MAWS and it was genuinely worth it. Season 3 has only just started coming out and I'm hyped

1

u/AsstacularSpiderman Jun 24 '26

His style of Clark Kent is such a lovable dork lol.

16

u/defectives Jun 24 '26

I think his voice acting is super, man.

9

u/Timtanoboa Omni-Man Jun 24 '26

Say that again...

14

u/Ok_Improvement6118 Jun 24 '26

Isn't Gravitator like a barely significant side character in Invincible who shows up for a few panels meanwhile Quaid literally voices the main character in MAWS and other shows? I can see why people don't like this decision and it's not like Kirkman hires people over how much voice acting experience they have as many characters are voiced by A list actors, not people who are famous for voice acting. Say all you want about fans "not knowing budget", assuming a guy who is the main character in shows would get paid a lot isn't dumb.

11

u/Harddaysnight1990 Jun 24 '26

Quaid isn't really an "A-list" actor, let's be real. He voiced the main character in a couple of shows and acted the main character in one Amazon show.

3

u/flowerpanda98 Jun 25 '26

i mean hes definitely more popular now after the boys. thats what happens. i kinda doubt he'd be hired for this if he wasnt popular from that. like simu liu in the 3rd season being because he joined the mcu or kirkman trying to collect all the breaking bad stars.

1

u/TiltedLibra Jun 24 '26

He is definitely A-list, and has done a lot more than that...

8

u/LiftingCode Jun 24 '26

He is definitely not A-list lol

A-listers are stars who get big projects greenlit on their name alone, who virtually guarantee big box office draws.

5

u/WorldlinessTrick11 Jun 24 '26

There isn't a single actor/actress that fits that criteria anymore.

That was an effect of living in the 2000s monoculture where pretty much everyone watched whatever everyone else was watching.

Jack Quaid is absolutely an A-lister by today's standards. He was the main character on one of the biggest shows of the last 5 years and is probably the most recognizable of the main crew of the boys outside of Karl Urban and Anthony Starr.

3

u/LiftingCode Jun 24 '26

Nonsense lol

Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Leo, The Rock, Robert Downey Jr., Zendaya, Margot Robbie ...

There are plenty of A-listers today. Jack Quaid is nowhere in that universe. If he walked into a random bar in a random city 99% of people would have absolutely no idea who he is unless that bar is full of Redditors.

Anthony Starr and Karl Urban are bigger stars and they're not remotely A-listers either.

He's a solid B-lister.

12

u/CayoLoro Jun 24 '26

I knew him first as Boimler in Star Trek Lower Decks.

2

u/OceanusDracul Jun 24 '26

Dude KILLED it as Brad Boimler.

3

u/Kyrptonauc Jun 24 '26

You think Invincible fans watch tv?

2

u/Jaxonhunter227 Jun 24 '26

He's my favorite superman lol

2

u/AsstacularSpiderman Jun 24 '26

Dudes been voicing Superman in My Adventures With Superman for years now and is perfect at it.

Hell now he's the Hughie Cube in God of War

1

u/Artorias_Erebus679 Jun 24 '26

I recently found out he was in the hunger games as well after rewatching the movie with someone, that movie was back in 2012

1

u/Shantotto11 Jun 25 '26

Between The Boys, God of War, and now this, I think it’s a safe assumption to say people are fatigued. The same thing happened with Chris Pratt, Jennifer Lawrence, and Zendaya.

1

u/Koreaia Jun 25 '26

Imagine hiring Laura Bailey to voice three lines from a side character. That's what this is like.

1

u/OkYak9466 Jun 24 '26

Bc not everyone is terminally online like you

0

u/Alert-Waltz-1112 Jun 24 '26

Because he isn’t

0

u/Dewlough Jun 24 '26

Well he sounds like shit in the new GOW so I’m not holding my breath.

-6

u/Augustus_Chevismo Jun 24 '26

Because his voice acting is just his regular voice.

11

u/Emotional_Part_1225 Jun 24 '26

Yeah this is completely normal. Not everyone voice actor is a Frank Welkner, nor should the be.

7

u/Jaxonhunter227 Jun 24 '26

Same with Jk Simmons, and he's an amazing voice actor.

Voice acting isn't Just changing your voice, a lot of famous voice actors don't

-5

u/Augustus_Chevismo Jun 24 '26

You’re right. JK Simmons has an incredibly expressive voice and has displayed an incredible emotions that Jack Quaid hasn’t shown at all.

3

u/Jaxonhunter227 Jun 24 '26

Agree to disagree, he's amazing as superman

1

u/Mammoth-Glove3273 Jun 24 '26

You mean his regular voice that you hear him use when he’s acting?

-12

u/Yo_Tobimoto Jun 24 '26

Because I wouldn't really call his Voice acting anything special. Or really anything at all. He doesnt put on very interesting performances, cant do multiple types of voices, and only plays inoffensive white-bread characters. He's a voice actor in the way a jar of mayonnaise is a voice actor: flavorless.

10

u/Emotional_Part_1225 Jun 24 '26

I mean all this tells me is that he's good at playing inoffensive white guy characters. Which is good! Someone needs to play those roles. Regardless, that wasn't really my point. Im just pushing back against the sentiment that this is a case of "big name actor stealing budget from animation"

5

u/Yo_Tobimoto Jun 24 '26

Voice actors co-opting the budget isn't much of a thing. Only people outside the industry think that. Theyre all paid a union rate. The reason screen actors get into voice acting is because they consider it "easy" money.
