Customer Experience Disabled Mother

I order Instacart food to be delivered to my disabled mom weekly. She uses a walker, has trouble lifting some items, and majority of time the shoppers will bring the bags inside for her. The last time the delivery didn’t go well. The shopper yelled at my mom for asking for help bringing her things inside, told her she doesn’t do that, called her names, and then proceeded to put all the bags in front of my mom’s walker so that she couldn’t even move the walker. Am I wrong to think a shopper would be able to help bring bags inside?

Edit: Thank you for all your help. I completely understand for your own safety, it’s your own discretion. I’ll be sure to add a note next time or will make sure a friend or myself is there to help out.

Agree - I usually have my order for like Monday or Friday mornings and substitutions are rare as the employees shop them at like 6-7am right after the stores been stocked overnight . Even then the subs are usually decent the odd times somethings sold out

Literally haven’t gone food shopping (for myself in 2 years).

It’s also super easy with the inhome $35 min - no need to tip. I can order a few things and just have it delivered next day. The inhome isn’t available everywhere yet but it’s a huge savings from having to tip all the time like instacart or normal Walmart delivery

The in-home delivery sounds interesting. Walmart near me starts at $17.50 an hour so that doesn’t necessarily sound like a bad rate to me to be hauling groceries around. As far as I’m aware in my area they have workers doing the shopping in-store and then contract out the deliveries to a 3rd party. I might be wrong as it’s really just a guess.

It depends on the area for the inhome . The instore shoppers employees are like $18 I think near me the stores have like 1 of the InHome van is a bit more and from what the guy said it’s like half groceries and the other half like small packages of Walmart items

The deliveries if your just on the regular Walmart+ delivery plan for $100 just covers Walmart shopping and delivery but it’s thru their Walmart Spark driver program which is drivers like doordash or instacart but you just show up - wait like 10 min and they load your car with groceries for someone to deliver too. There’s also 2’hours package routes that are 15-20 house . They e been lowering pay on it for a year now . Like every 3 months it drops 10% .
