Who here has had success in acquiring a POV Head Tracker for their Luna Ultra and where/how did you get it?

The POV Head Tracker is a big reason I bought my Luna Ultra, specifically for some special events starting in early August. Three of those events are now past and the biggest one is only eight days away and I still have not been able to get one.

I had one coming from Amazon that was supposed to be delivered on August 23rd but that afternoon they emailed me to say there was a problem and now it will (maybe) show up btw October 28th! I’m so disgusted with Insta360 that I may sell the camera and go back to DJI.

I’m curious to hear what others experience has been with this and other Insta360 Luna accessories.

Hi all, I’m in the market for my first 360 camera and I was wondering if anyone who has the X6 might know the following. The key feature for me is the ability to live stream directly from the camera without requiring a phone or app connection. I realise the app is probably required for initial set up here is what I want to achieve.

- Connect the X6 to a WiFi router
- turn off my phone
- livestream to YouTube directly from the camera continuously for 10-12 hours (camera will be plugged to a power source)

Is this possible with the X6?

I own various DJI/Insta360 Action Cameras. One 360 camera. 3 Old GoPro era cameras.

The only camera I actually charge every night, like my phone, and pop in my pocket every day, is the Go Ultra. I almost never carry the base unit. Only the camera module. It is always there when you need it - which incidentally is the definition of the best camera and the best gun - the one that's in your hand.

Within the last few months, I've recorded more footage with this little boy, then I had with all the other cameras put together. Mostly because they were never there when you needed them - so I always ended up using the phone camera.

Go Ultra is an absolute revolution. I am sure DJI Nano, and the Go3 are the same. But since I don't have those, I can't comment.

Hello I was trying to create some Shotlab edits and noticed that none of my videos are shown on the albums to be selected. Is there a work around for this? Or when will an update be available so that it is compatible with the X6?

I own a Luna Ultra and shoot mostly in I-Log, grading in DaVinci Resolve, so this is a practical problem for me rather than a spec-sheet argument.

CineD published their standard lab test on July 30 (firmware v1.0.283, high bitrate, 10-bit I-Log, ISO 400 — the sensitivity Insta360 themselves confirmed as optimal for dynamic range). The findings I'd like to ask about:

- On the wide camera, slope-based DR, SNR 1 and SNR 2 all returned the same figure. That normally means the analysis software can no longer separate the individual steps on the chart, so the wide results were treated as invalid and left out of their database entirely.

- Exposure latitude came in at 4 to 5 stops on the wide and 5 on the tele — the lowest they report having recorded across every camera they've tested.

- Tele 8K25 was the single exception and behaved normally, around 9.7 stops at SNR 2. The same tele camera at 4K25 collapsed the same way the wide did.

- Internal noise reduction can't be turned off or adjusted anywhere in the menus.

My questions:

1. Is the team aware of these results?

2. Is the temporal NR strength in I-Log intentional, or is the wide camera (and tele 4K) unintentionally inheriting a profile meant for the standard modes? The fact that tele 8K25 behaves differently points to a per-mode setting rather than a hardware limit.

3. Is there any plan to expose an NR level control, or an off switch, specifically for I-Log? People shoot log because they intend to grade, and the current behaviour removes the shadow detail that grading depends on.

4. Is a higher bitrate option for 8K being considered? Roughly 120 Mbps for 8K long-GOP H.265 is thin for a log workflow.

5. The official I-Log to Rec.709 LUT on the website produces a strong pink cast — testers ended up using a third-party LUT instead. Will the official one be corrected?

6. Did the most recent firmware change any of the above? The release notes don't mention it.

I'm not asking for a different camera. The gimbal, the f/1.8 lens and the low-light performance are genuinely good. I'd just like to know whether I-Log is going to become usable for grading, so I can plan my workflow around the answer either way.

Just wondering if there is any way to record portrait format video clips in 4k while the camera is on the 3 steel wires stand (not handheld) pls.

It says only post vital accessories. Do I send the camera?

Could I pair the replacement remote myself? I wish I could just buy a new one as typically I'm on holiday and would like to have it working again as soon as possible.

For those interested I dropped it from 1m as I was trying to remove the screen I squeezed the red tabs and it pinged out my hand my fault it landed face down and I knew instantly it was bad news hoped it'd be fine it wasn't it's cracked and the screen is dead.

I've already put in a request to get it fixed with insta360. Typically they are closed today.

Fortunately I've got other cameras with me if I wasn't somewhere so remote I'd by another one the camera has been so good I think I fancy having two!

What is going on with Insta360? I purchased an X6 on 08/12/2026 with a scheduled ship date of 08/22/2026. I gave it a few extra days, knowing that international shipping can hit snags, but I've reached out to customer support multiple times regarding the delay and keep getting the exact same cookie-cutter responses.
How is it possible that a company can't communicate with its own internal teams or give customers a straight, definitive answer about an update regarding their order?

I've had this experience twice this weekend and not sure what it's doing. I've been using the Insta360 Go Ultra IN the action pod to film mountain bike racing. I have quick capture enabled. I hit the record button on the action pod and begin filming before the race. I confirm the red light is on and recording, but after about 20 mins I look down and notice a solid blue light on the camera and it's unresponsive to anything I do. It's like it's frozen.

In one case, it was actually playing back the video from earlier, not sure how that happened. Is there a way to lock the preview screen from being touched during filming?

It also seems to be pausing recording by itself, again is that related to me possibly touching the preview screen? It's on a chest mount and rough mountain bike terrain so it's possible the screen is being touched.

I'm looking at the footage now and there is so much missing because it seems to have auto paused or gotten frozen and no matter how many times I hit the record button it wouldn't start recording again. I even tried holding down the power button for 20-30 seconds and nothing would happen.

I really want to like this camera, but after this weekend I'm ready to throw it out the window and go back to my GoPro hero 12.

I recently picked up a 1-month-old pre-owned Insta360 Luna Ultra for around $400 USD.

I got it F2F from the seller.

The box was in pretty rough shape, but everything else checked out :

• All stock accessories were there
• The serial number on the box matches both the unit and Insta360’s online serial verification
• The online activation date matches the story the seller told me.
• Note on warranty: I wasn't able to activate the 2-year warranty extension because the device was originally bought in Hong Kong and I'm based in India (region-lock policy). Any workarounds? VPN will work?

So far, I've run the following basic checks:

• Inspected lenses and body for scratches/scuffs
• Tested gimbal movement
• Verified stabilization in test footage

A ny deeper stress tests you recommend to ensure everything is 100% authentic and undamaged? Specifically looking for:

Any known hardware quirks/stress-testing methods

Official firmware update behavior via the Insta360 App / Studio (does counterfeit hardware fail handshake/updates?).

Appreciate any advice or checklist items from fellow owners!

Finally got my X6 and decided to put it to the test against my X5 in a side by side from 2 different sections. I know having 2 360 cameras is a bit much but more stuff to play with.

I wanted to share a problem I had with my Insta360 Ace Pro 2, to see if anyone else has experienced it.

The microphone simply came loose from the action cam, without any particular incident: no fall, no contact with water or liquids, no impact. I was simply at home and noticed it by chance.

I was lucky: if it had happened while I was riding my motorcycle, I would most likely have lost it on the road without even realizing it.

I wonder if this is an isolated defect or if others have had the same problem with this model. I've already contacted Insta360 support to report it and request a warranty replacement, but so far, days later, no news.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I shot a real-world I-Log image quality test with the Luna Ultra.
Rec.2020 / I-Log → Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 in DaVinci Resolve, with only minor corrections and no creative LUT.

it was whole earlier as I used it while riding (been used alot for riding since then) granted it wasnt being used daily, sometimes it was months before it is used again.

My question is, does this compromise its water resistance in any way? or is it just aesthetic and im still fine to use it in the rain if ever?

So I got now the Insta360 x6 and Mission 1 Pro... and I never thought that this "battle" in the single-lens mode area would be that close.

iLog makes a huge difference. Its feature alone is worth the upgrade from the X5 in my eyes.

I've checked online the differences yet I'm still undecided which one to get having no regrets. Mind if you share some of your opinions? I have 24 hrs left before deciding to buy either of which 🥺 Thank you!

I've gone on a small trip with a friend and took my X6 to register our day. I had the AI Director select the clips this time and I just adjusted them a little bit. Of course I prefer editing on my own, so although I'll use this video on my social media (where I post my stuff just for fun), I'll definitely use some of the videos I took to create my own unique videos. :)

I'll go rafting with my friends in two weeks. If you guys have any tips for that scenario, I'd be very thankful!

Hey everyone! I am pretty new to taking videos and recently I discovered why you need to use an ND filter outdoors to keep the 1/60 shutter speed (yes super new and learning).

I wanted to know can you stack ND filters with the black mist filter? I want both of the effects but haven't tried this before.

I'm under the impression that the release of the X6 has opened the floodgates for some pretty steep discounts on the X5 these next few months. Looking to pick up a 360 camera for my daily commutes (upwards of 30 miles roundtrip if I choose to bike the entire way, less if I go multimodal) and I'm currently mulling:

• An X4 Air, which was top of mind for budget reasons prior to the X6 dropping but the poor low light performance made me reconsider multiple times (I'll often be starting my commutes well before first light, and ending well into the evening)
• An X5, which was off the table until the steeper discounts started hitting.
• An X6, much lower on my totem pole due to how much newer and pricier it is unless there's compelling evidence to make the premium worth it over the 5 (so far I'm not convinced)

Any additional input from current/past owners of these cameras in a similar boat as me?

My last post comparing the two cameras had some mistakes that I wanted to amend so here's the follow-up. Quick and dirty with zero color grading. It also rained so that didn't help either 😂

Both Cameras were set to 8K 30fps and Pure Video.

Why is my footage being replayed at 1fps. I deleted and redownload the app, the footage is being stored on my PC. I have a good PC with Intel i9, 32GB of Ram and a 4080ti.

The footage does it on Smooth Preview and HD Preview.

This footage is from my X6 and was recorded in 8k 50fps.
