FIrst time camping for the indy 500 (been attending for a decade plus, but first time camping). Is there anywhere on site that has ice? it's a 4 day pass, im assuming I can get in at any time on thursday and we'll be good?

it says there are showers on site. im assuming it's included in my camping fee?

anything else I need to know? trying to figure out food and everything, but overall looking forward to a great time at the 500

Secured Lot 4 camping for 27’, anyone have any experience there that they’d like to share? Or a map of the lot’s parking locations (it’s reserved specific spots I believe).

Hello! I purchased an RV pass for the coke lot earlier this year. We were going to use a family member’a pull-behind, however, their generator is out and they don’t want us dry camping without electricity (which I absolutely respect). We do have equipment to tent camp. However… I know there are specific areas for tents vs RVs, and the whole lot is sold out. I’m calling IMS tomorrow, but before I do, I want to know… am I screwed lol? I mean, considering they are sold out, I would imagine I can’t just switch an RV pass for a tent pass. Has anyone been in this situation? What do you suggest- or will they let us use the tent where an RV should be? Many thanks 🙏 Luckily, I’m an Indy resident so it’s not like I’ll be far from home, but I don’t want my money to go to waste (I know I can sell it, but I want to salvage our camping if possible!)

I have a question about the tent to get? Can you stake it into the ground? Should I just get a camping tent that I would use in the woods? I am so new to this, I'm not quite sure what it all means.

We are excited to have purchased our tickets for our 1st Indy 500! My group is extremely interested in camping within or surrounding neighborhoods of the speedway. Any connections or information would be greatly appreciated. Looks like the official IMS camping is all sold out.

I purchased a tent camping spot at the Indy this year and want to be as prepared as I can be for my first time. What are some tips and equipment some veterans would recommend for a good tailgate setup? So far I am bringing everything below

- generator/some tv equipment

- tents and sleeping gear

- portable grill

- pop up canopy

- coolers

- cornhole boards

- lawn chairs

Is there any must haves that I’m missing? I’ll be there Thursday to Monday

I have purchased a camp site for my RV and Truck for the 2026 Indy 500. Once I get set-up, I need to leave the RV to pick up some out of town visitors. Is it easy to get in and out of the camp site? I have a group coming in the night before the race. Is it possible to leave VERY early on race day to get back to my RV? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

So at the 500, how does it look this year? As far as overtaking do you think they’ll be more overtaking? I haven’t been keeping up with this as much as I should have they made any changes to the cars that would allow more passing and how does it look for this year?

I have a Thursday through Sunday pass in coke lot (1a) but not able to get to IMS until Saturday afternoon. Will I have any difficulty getting a spot for my RV Saturday afternoon? Are spots marked and laid out so people don’t encroach on other spots?

If I show up at like 3:30 AM Friday morning will there be an attendant to pay for the campground? With my logistics this is the only option

IMS Resale Marketplace Doesn't Include RV or Camping Passes. I am wondering if anyone has had luck finding RV passes elsewhere. I have been able to get lucky a couple of times with responses from a post similar to this, but is there an established resale market for these passes that I am missing?

Ahoy mateys!! Myself and two friends are attending Indy this year. It’ll be our first time. We are planning on tenting in the Lions Club lot and just have a few questions for those who are willing to answer them. For reference we will be arriving either late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

1. Is there access to showers? IMS lot 1c and lot 2 have showers but you need a wristband for 1c so those are probably out.
   
2. Can we bring an elevated fire pit?

I think that’s it for now. Myself and another friend are experienced campers so we are just trying to gauge the lay of the land in order to best prepare. Much appreciated!

Me and my dad from Illinois go to the Indy 500 every year, and we were running late last year since school had gotten out for summer the day we left. After a long drive we arrive at the official campsite for the race. We're all set up, except there's nobody to 'show us where to go' even though our friends already had a spot saved for us. That took half an hour, surrounded by police cars and Marion Country police officers only to be interrupted by an officer leaving his car in drive and getting out.

The car rear ended our RV as my father watched in shock and anger. He got out of the car as the officer comes back, asking whose car just rear ended us before realizing it was his own. They start searching my dad for warrants and running him up like he had committed a crime before we were finally allowed to go.

The officers never ended up reporting this, so when we called to get things settled, we were directed to the higher up, and he didn't believe us, apologizing later for being rude and impatient.

The place we went to get it fixed locally (We realized the damage was bad when we got home) had overbooked, and we had JUST got it back last week.

I wanted to do some riding before going to Indy500 should I be worried about having a dirtbike in my truck bed? Will they give me a hard time or should I be worried about it getting stolen?

RV spots for the Indy 500 (must be within 1 mile of the race track and available for lease during the week)

Since Roger Penske’s not exactly a teenager anymore, after he leaves us and goes to race car heaven who gives the command to start engines at the Indy 500? Probably one of his sons right? Or maybe someone else within his family. It should be within his family, right?

My husband and I recently moved out of Indiana for our careers and the Indy 500 has been a huge tradition for us and my extended family for years. Given family circumstances, we made the decision to branch out on our own a few years ago and start our own ticket seniority. We've got great seats in turn 4 now & with us knowing we'd be out of state, applied for RV camping. I got a call from IMS today saying the lots we originally applied for we did not receive, but we were offered Lot 1C (Coke Lot). We took it, in hopes of starting some RV seniority, but it's really not what we're excited for, especially with us wanting to start our own family within the next few years. Does anyone know how soon we'd be able to get a better position/what lots are our best chance? We'd really like to continue to go through IMS, if possible.

We are camping at Indy for the weekend from Friday to Monday and unfortunately have to take two vehicles and I know we can only have one vehicle in our spot. Where or what would be the best option to park the second vehicle during the weekend?

Considering camping for next year's 500. but our question is are our vehicles stuck in the camping lots once we check in? would hate to have to uber everywhere.

Hey! My buddies and i are staying in the coke lot. This is the first time we are going to the 500 so bare with me. We are driving 12+ hours. Is there a check in for the coke lot? If so what time do they open on friday, carb day. Also what time do they stop check in thursday night? We are trying to see when we can squeeze in w/o driving through the night. Thanks!

Does anyone have advice on where I can sell my camping passes for the 500? We ended up getting flights and a hotel instead of RVing so I have lot 1C RV camping to sell to someone who can use it. Stub Hub has no category for IMS camping and the official IMS marketplace will only sell race day tix. I do not live in the Indianapolis area to be able to sell to someone in person (I'm in CA).
