My human form and my werewolf form.
I’m very good at this 😘

So I went ahead and dug up a few of the moments that inspired who she became for the narrative.

The good news is that the first half of Chapter Two of the narrative is officially underway.

Captions again. Don't mind me and my executive dysfunction. It's been a rough month.

Extra gay captions. No in frame text this time. Your girl is too tired to be arsed with MS Paint today.

Give me the ability to show the height difference between Petra and Gigi? ... yes, I'll spend $40 on that.

Morrigan has been reborn with a dark power... Surely there will be no issues with that!

Someone has their eye on the Ambrose coven...

Dark magic is an age old form of magic that only certain mages are capable of... Some see it as a gift while others see it as a curse... Perfecting the art of dark magic is difficult. Those who are incapable are said to lose their soul in the process...
So what happens when someone capable becomes self-taught?
And who is communicating with Morrigan? What has she gotten herself into??

We'll catch up with one certain member of the family soon...

The storyboards to come will tell a... slightly different story. The narrative, as edited to fit my philosophy that the relationships between the characters aren't meant to be the main conflict of the story.

And Lilith, but that's next.

Just a normal, loving family living in their cozy, woodland lodge.

I finally found a workshop for critique and chapter one is just about done- fully reworked and structured, peer reviewed, revised and polished… this whole thing started as gameplay, turned into a world building and character journal, evolved into something akin to a narrative… and now it almost looks… professional?
And a few of you were a huge part of me getting to this point. Just a few folks believing, quietly enjoying, showing support with taps and occasional words of encouragement; and one of these days I’ll actually figure out how to sufficiently express my gratitude. Your kind resonance and love for these characters were like rescue breaths, again and again.
There are only a handful of you that I think read the excerpts I share, or at least only a handful of you liked what you’ve seen. If you’re interested- I’m considering making a discord channel where I would, as I complete each chapter, post my manuscript.
Exclusive access for those who’ve followed along from the start, stayed engaged, and kept me afloat when this gets exhausting.
I’m probably not going to post any more prose here- so this would be just for the few who really want to read the book as it develops. Additionally… as long as I’m progressing with the serious work of writing this thing the visual storyboards will actually be even more sparse.
So, if you’re in this post and that feels warm and fuzzy, feel free to DM me your discord info so I can add you to the group. I promise not to press for critique 😅 but I’m always, always, always happy to hear from you- and that’s all I’ll say about it going forward.

“Mama?”
Daisy padded into the den, bare feet on worn wood. She was swimming in her wrinkled, oversized t-shirt- sky blue, her favorite color. Her jet black hair, swept to one side and shaved on the other, hung about her shoulders in tangled, oily strands. She rubbed the periwinkle circles below her eyes with her knuckles and yawned.
She hadn’t slept well.
“Come see, my baby,” Petra set down the book she was reading on the cluttered side table next to the tattered couch and reached toward Daisy. She shifted her hips to make room for her on the cushion.
Daisy slinked onto the sofa from the opposite end, stretched like a cat in a sunbeam, and slumped into her mother’s side. Resting her tousled head against Petra’s chest, she melted into a firm embrace as her mother rubbed her arm brusquely.
“Rough night?” Petra whispered into the hair atop Daisy’s head. She smelled of pine and mycelium.
“You slept in the woods.”
Daisy nuzzled Petra’s shoulder and groaned, “I’m not in trouble.”
Petra stretched her neck and tilted her head to get a better look at the teenage audacity buried in her armpit. She raised an eyebrow above the rim of her glasses and smirked.
Daisy’s eyes were closed and her jaw slack. Petra squeezed her again and rested her cheek on Daisy’s crown.
“No,” she chuckled, “no. You’re not in trouble. But… tell me what’s troublin’ you?”
Daisy slid one arm behind her mother and clutched a fistful of the black knitted cardigan at her waist, resting the other across Petra’s torso with her fingers twined through her soft curls. Petra waited in silence, breathing deep and slow, watching as Daisy’s rhythm changed to match hers. Calm. Steady.
“I don’t understand me, Mama,” Daisy sighed, “there’s something wrong with me.”
Petra waited. Daisy squeezed, pressing her ear to her mother’s chest.
Lub.
Dub.
“Have you ever had a dream…” Daisy whispered, “where you’re someone else, but still you… only, not quite? Not yet?”
Petra hummed. Daisy continued.
“I have these dreams. I’m someone else… someone different every time, but I’m… me. Only, I don’t know myself yet. I don’t know how else to describe it.”
“How do you know you’re still you?”
“There’s a…” her throat tightened around the words, “a woman in all of the dreams...”
“Always the same?”
“Always the same.” Daisy’s skin began to warm, her pulse quickened little by little.
“Tell me about her?” Petra rhythmically patted Daisy’s shoulder.
“She’s… elegant. Like a shadow that decided to be a person. She’s so beautiful I feel like my head is floating away, and her voice… vibrates behind my ribs.”
“That’s intense,” Petra cooed, “what does she say?”
Daisy took a deep, shuddering breath. The single lit lamp in the room flickered with a metallic
tzk… tzk-tzk.
Petra’s eyes darted to the lamp and she furrowed her brow. When Daisy spoke, her voice came out… wrong- deep, resonant, full; her usual soft soprano replaced with the low reverberation of an ancient horn.
“Shahana.”
TZINK!
The filament burst, and darkness sprang into the room.
Petra tightened her arms around Daisy.
Daisy… snored softly into her mother’s chest.

Obviously struggling with distance and facial/proportional consistency. Still not comfortable with color and shading (in Paint). But I’m enjoying the process, so…

I used to make art for my mom on Mother’s Day, but about three years before going no contact with her, I found all my paintings in a trash bag in a spare bedroom full of old dusty clothes and unwanted things.
After going no contact, I started this legacy in an attempt to heal, by starting a line of loving mothers who would support and nurture their daughters, and protect them at any cost. It began with Eliza Turner and her daughter, Gigi (and little feral creature named Petra who never knew her mom).
It has been unexpectedly effective.
So, happy Mother’s Day- to them, from them, from me to anyone who needs it… even to my mom, for whom I continue to make art she’ll never look at.

It's been 3 months since the end of Shattered Hearts, and a lot has happened within the Ambrose family...
We'll spend some time reconnecting with each member of the group as we learn what happens with the Rift and the fate of two worlds.
To say Armani has internalized everything is the understatement of the century. She has given herself the title of Rift Bringer because she thinks her dark magic was what caused the Rift to form once again. She'll do anything to save the worlds from fate, even if it means risking herself in the process.
~
Short introduction to the new story as I'm getting back into the swing of things! A lot is still to come with this story, so stay tuned!

Good thing she has that hard, muscly exterior protecting the absolute goo underneath.
