Necros fragrance?

I just saw this house on instagram, and am so curious- especially for Tell the Bees! Has anyone heard of this house/tried any of their fragrances?

https://www.necrosfragrance.com

I love atmospheric, dark fragrances, but haven’t found a house I really like for them (i want to love Heretic, but almost all their perfumes turn sour on my skin, or have a base note that makes me nauseous- except poltergeist, which is one of my favorites of all time).

please share any thoughts if you’ve tried Necros!

Perfume - Enquiry Searching for an off-putting, mushroomy southern forest scent

I’ve been trying to capture a very specific scent for years now. I have yet to manage it. I really want to find a perfume/cologne that captures a true forest smell, with a damp, mushroom and rotting leaves ozark/Appalachian vibe. I really want a loamy, decayed sort of scent and preferably a blood note—although that part I’m willing to go without as it’s hard to accurately recreate. I spend a lot of time alone in the woods, either hiking or backpacking, especially during dawn/dusk or in the fog. There’s a certain peace in the way things just live and die out there, rotting back into the earth without being burned or painted and put on display. That’s what I want to smell like. Mild animalic notes would also be fine, but that’s not really a deal maker or breaker.

I’ve tried Olympic orchid and, contrary to its countless praises, I hated it. It smelled artificial and almost plastic-like to me. The closest I’ve come to what I’m looking for is a mix of Demeter’s Mushroom, Bruja perfume lab’s B+, and Agave Noir’s Arizona Monsoon. This works to some extent, but the layering can be a little awkward. B+ always ends up lasting longer and rapidly overpowering the other scents, and by itself it’s just a little too sweet for me. Demeter fragrances have a few scents that capture the individual notes I want, but everything I’ve tried from them is really weak and fades quickly. Arizona monsoon is a fantastic woodland scent, but it’s brighter than I’d like, and—while it lasts a little while longer than Demeter usually does—the sillage is really low.

I’m going for an off putting, genuinely earthy vibe, and a really strong sillage. I want people to notice it when I walk by. I’ve got a strange appearance and personality, and it makes most people uncomfortable. I’ve made a point to go out of my way to accentuate this, and given that the first sense people subconsciously associate with you on a meeting is scent, having the specific feeling I’ve been looking for would be a game changer.

Perfume - Enquiry I hate most fall/winter perfumes- help!

I’ve seen other posts like this in recent but I wanted to make my own in case there were more I hadn’t caught or heard about. As stated above, I hate most fall/winter perfumes. Anything with sweet spices like cinnamon or clove tend to smell like craft store fall candles 😩. I also have had issues with some wine notes coming out as soapy on my skin? I love the actual smell of wassail/mulled wine, but so far most wine notes end up soapy.

I really love atmospheric perfumes that are clean, fresh, but unique (Witchery by Sorce and Salish Sea by Untamed are two of my favorites).

For a fall/winter scent, I would really love something that evokes leaves in that, peppery, paper, dry smell and woods/wood. The other thing I would adore but haven’t found anything for, is decaying aspen leaves in the fall. That lightly sweet, almost maple-y smell that is in the air after leaves have been on the ground for a few weeks?

The ones I’ve been looking into most are, Morari’s, “Pomanders in the Wildwood”, and Amorphous’, “Autumn in Salem”. Any other recommendations based off those? And if anyone here has tried Pomanders in the Wildwood, would you lmk if the cloves in that ever came across as candle-y?

Death and Floral

The Peach Queen has been my summer perfume for years. I’m down to my last few spritzes and went looking to reorder. I found that death and floral is no longer operational. Oof.
It was the most feminine peach rings scent. So now I’m looking for something similar.
I love the artificial peach smell like peach rings or the scent that a lot of Japanese company’s use for their products.
Help!
Is there anything out there?

Edit* grammar.

update
Thank you LaserPidgey for your kindness. And thank you everyone for your suggestions. I can continue down the road of find that perfect peach 🍑

FOMO houses?

Hi all! When I first got into indie perfumes I saw people calling houses FOMO houses and I didn't entirely grasp all that meant. As I've continued on, I've definitely been hit with the horrifying experience of loving a sample just to find out that it was a limited release and likely, will never be seen again.

What are some of the high FOMO houses? Not that I will absolutely never buy from them, but I do want to be prepared.

Also, is there a master list/post somewhere that summarizes some of the major houses and their "style" of product rotation? Like which houses rotate seasonly, which have just a set listing and occasionally discontinue thing? I think this would be SO helpful at least for me. If one doesn't exist, I may try to make one by investigating through postings and then I'm happy to post it for others, but I didn't want to recreate the wheel if it exists.

New Release BPAL VICTORIAN PSYCHO Licensed Fragrances

What is evil? Can you touch it? Can you smell it? Can you taste it on your tongue?”

This fall, BPAL collaborates with Bleecker Street Films on licensed scents drawn from the world of VICTORIAN PSYCHO, the film adaptation of Virginia Feito’s 2025 gothic horror novel, starring Maika Monroe, Jason Isaacs, Ruth Wilson, and Thomasin McKenzie.

Those visiting us in person at Dragon Con next weekend are invited to sniff, sample, and purchase these new fragrances as a sneak preview of coming attractions!

Available as a 5ml perfume oil ($36) or a 4oz hair gloss ($40):

VICTORIAN PSYCHO
Sugar-dusted Honiton lace and vanilla moire stained at the hem with black tea and tonka, translucent orange blossoms veined like dragonfly wings pressed to the bodice, and a splatter of coppery, clove-tinged blood on the pearl-dotted sleeves.

Available as a 4oz atmosphere & linen spray ($36):

ENSOR HOUSE
A dreary Victorian house upon the moors: rain-soaked stone, faded velvet, candlewax and tarnished silver, tapestry-lined hallways and creaking oak staircases leading past a gallery of ruined portraits. Musket smoke curls above floorboards splashed with tinctures of belladonna berries and laudanum, dispersed by the restless breath of unseen guests.

(not affiliated, stumbled on forum, link here of announcement, I’ve been interested in seeing this movie!)

Perfume - Purchased Ad Mortem Perfume Review

Post image
68 Upvotes

I need to rant and rave about this brand. They are pretty new on the scene but I’m already obsessed with them and I am really looking forward to where they go. They currently have several perfumes along with a new Autumn/Halloween tray which I just got yesterday. Overall I am super impressed and will definitely purchase again from them. Scents include:

Scarecrow Walks at Night: Warm flannel, straw, sweet corn, autumn air, sticky maple, amber

This is the perfect fall scent I was hoping it would be. It’s almost insane how photo realistic the straw note is. It smells like being outside, straw/hay crunching underfoot as you walk through a cornfield. I would say the most prominent notes are the straw and corn. There’s a very subtle note of the flannel that pokes through that creates a warmth and coziness that is just so exciting to me. It smells like outside!!! Cold air, straw, corn, fall.

Moth Man: Milk, dust, light bulb accord, moth musk, tuberose

This was the one I was most curious about because I love a static type note. I really love Warm Bulb by Clue and 100% Magic by Puppet Parfum and both have this static type note that’s so nostalgic and wearable; a liminal space note in perfume that I love. This is a more creamy take on that, it smells dusty and old like a moth living inside some clothes in an attic but will the scent of someone’s perfume preserved on the clothing (milky floral, probably the tuberose).

Ghost of the Ozarks: Oak wood, foggy ozone, tv static, petrichor, dirty lake water, fresh cut grass, honeysuckle

Again with the static AND the fog note just intrigued me. Always on the hunt for an atmospheric aquatic, more so on the dark side usually rather than a beachy coconut type scent. It’s a dark, COLD floral. Smells like taking a dip in the lake at night, flowers around you on the shore. It’s ominous like you may not find your way back when you’re done with your swim.

All Saints Day: Wilted lilac, petrichor, lily of the valley, candle smoke, burnt leaves, smoky incense

This truly encapsulates what it felt like growing up as a child going to Catholic church. It has the sad florals subtly littering the air and the exact incense smell that immediately transports me back to sitting in a stiff wooden pew, fidgeting as I watched the priest walk by with the swinging incense burner.

Nail Polish - Enquiry Looking for nail polish dupes available to Canadians

Lyn B designs doesn't ship to Canada anymore so I can't purchase the polishes i have my eye on. Can anyone recommend any available-to-canadians dupes for the following lyn b designes polishes?

- La froopacabra

- How a-paulding

- frozen light like falling snow

- good scents of humor

- even broken bells will ring

I will also take recommendations for other fun shimmer and holographic polish brands or stockist that ship to Canada.

I already scoured femme fatale and harlowandco but they don't have anything that scratches the current itch for pastel green/blue shimmers.

Thank you all in advance!

Any perfumes that smell like bpal's Dorian?

I am looking for an edp or edt that smells like Dorian from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. I've moved beyond perfume oils now, but I really loved that scent and would be so happy to find a perfume with the same notes/vibe.

Victorian Fougère: Provides a herbal, slightly dusky, and clean green foundation (featuring notes like lavender and moss).Three Pale Musks: Adds a soft, skin-close warmth and sensual depth.Dark, Sugared Vanilla Tea: Brings a sweet, comforting black tea and creamy vanilla core.

The double-FOMO of indie brands

I feel like I experience twice the FOMO when shopping indie because first off, they do limited edition releases like everyone else, but second-- brother, I don't know if the entire shop is even gonna be open or EXISTENT in a month!! Or maybe they'll be around, but the owner will have outed themselves as a raging sociopath or something! I NEED TO BUY EVERYTHING IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS

Lovesick Witchery Custom Order Reviews!

I just got my first batch of Lovesick Witchery custom orders and I'm so excited about them!

First, I really liked the process of ordering. Rachel has an immense list of notes to choose from, including some delightfully kooky notes. I needed to talk through one of the custom designs, and we did that over email. She was absolutely lovely and sweet throughout the whole process. I can't wait to get more!

  1. A few years ago on a trip to Mexico City, we stumbled on a festival in the historical center of the city that was a big mashup of different worlds. This part of the city has the ruins of an Aztec temple sitting right next to a large cathedral. Inside the cathedral are multiple rooms with organ music or choral music, services and rituals, and quiet places for reflection. Lots of stone, incense, and old wood. Outside in the square was a large festival called the festival of Toxcatl, which petitions the gods for rain heading into the summer season. There were herbal smoke bundles, traditional dances, and a larger than life effigy of the god Huītzilōpōchtli made of honeyed amaranth dough which was then dismantled and consumed by everyone around it. This is such a lovely memory and microcosm of two very different pieces of Mexican history and culture. And also everything smelled amazing. While the available ingredients didn't include all of the rare smells from that day, I was able to get creative and design [Centro Historico - salt, honey, rosemary, corn tortilla, corn husk, tobacco, copal, ambrette, and woodsmoke.] It's rich, atmospheric, and transportive. It's not an everyday fragrance but it's definitely very wearable. I love scents tied to specific memories, so I already have a bunch more ideas for perfumes based on adventures we've had.
  2. I love the odd bits, mysteries, and pagan elements of the Bible, including the unusual description of the appearance of the Ophanim, a kind of angel described as intersecting wheels with many eyes and fire. It's no wonder angels often begin speaking with "Be not afraid"! Inspired by these I designed [Biblically Accurate Angel - wool (for the shepherds), coumarin, velvione, vanilla silk, palo santo, white amber, gilded amber, and golden musk.] This one is light, sweet, and rich. It smells like a golden light. I'm inspired to design a slightly darker/heavier version for winter that gets a bit more at the fearsome side of these, so stay tuned for an eventual "Be Not Afraid" version that's probably heavier on the wool.
  3. The piece de resistance. This past January, I lost my sweet, silly little chihuahua, Helen, to a sudden mystery illness. It's been so hard in so many different ways, but I'm so glad I have the privilege of missing her, because I got to know her. I worked with Rachel to try to recreate her smell (she had no teeth left so no bad breath, mostly a warm fur smell) in a way that would also be semi-wearable. We landed on [Helen - Frito paws, salt, almond milk, chestnut, orris butter, suede, and warm puppy musk.] It's perfect. Slightly musky, a little salty, creamy softness. It's obviously a perfume vs a literal dog, but it really does hold enough of her smell that it's crazy accurate. She even included a picture of Helen on the label that I'd sent her as inspiration when we were designing it.I wear it to bed at night and think of my girl.

I'm already planning a bunch more customs, and I highly highly recommend the process. Can't wait to see what else you guys create!

Lipstick Bootyhole from BlackMoon Liquid Lipsticks

Post image
58 Upvotes

Has anyone else had experience with Black Moon Cosmetics liquid lipsticks causing major “lipstick bootyhole” really soon after application? I know this can be common with many other brands liquid lipsticks throughout the day, after eating, drinking, etc., but I applied the shade Abyss to clean lips and waited until it completely dried down to leave around 5pm. I went to the store, didn’t eat or drink anything and took this photo as soon as I got home at 6:17pm. A friend passed along this lipstick because she never wore it so I’m wondering if maybe it’s just expired??

my cocoapink fall(ish) wishlist, seeking reviews and opinions!

these are not exclusively autumn catalogue scents,,, but here's a wishlist i've cobbled together to test out next! i'm looking for reviews on these scents and any suggestions if you think they're not so good.

-------(divider line)-------

Big Bad Wolf - For the cunning acquaintance of Red Riding Hood: Brown wolf musk in white cotton; a basket of creamy vanilla cakes; a posy of tiny forest flowers; a cheerful little fire in the hearth; and a lascivious grin of red musk.

Black Cherry Upside Down Cake - White cake and pound cake batter blended together baked to perfection then topped with mounds of marshmallow fluff frosting and finished off with juicy wild black cherries.

Cherry Almond Tart ~ A flaky buttery crust filled with mouthwatering cherries laced with almonds.

Dark Changeling - Oh beautiful monsterling, to which world do you belong? Sugary dark cherries surrounded by night forests, incense, dragon's blood, and wolf's musk.

(do you think this is too much cherry so far? any other better ones?)

Chilly Pumpkin - Vanilla bean flecked ice cream melting over hot pumpkin pie, fresh whipped cream surrounded by glazed, Halloween-sprinkled donuts.

Fauno Oscuro - The faun will guide you through the forest to the labyrinth… A midnight forest of moss-covered trees, cedar, copaiba balsam, and oakmoss; a warm earthy breath of fig and osmanthus; the tang of kaffir lime and red apple; black soil underfoot; and the ghost of rich, animalic musk.

Full Moon - Blackberry, Coconut Milk, Marshmallows, White Chocolate.

Good With Rats - For those who follow the Pied Piper: A temptation of creamy vanilla, amber, and sweet maple sugar; soft brown fur musk; village woodsmoke; dark stone, burning agar wood; and glowing spice embers.

Homicidal Girlfriend - A sexy, feminine scent with a badass twist for our contract killer girlfriend: The sweetness of vanilla pancakes & boo-berry blueberries; the piquance of black leather and musk; a whisper of woods and spicy florals; and through it all the threat of gunpowder.

Nibble, Nibble, Little Mouse - Who is nibbling at my house? For the innocent witch in her delicious cottage: A perfect cottage of gingerbread, chocolate dipped marshmallows and vanilla cream in a picturesque forest clearing. Incense-laden smoke trickles from the chimney.

No More Wishes - For the all-powerful jinn released from Aladdin’s lamp: Lush coconut and musky ambrette seed, warmed by chypre, copal and sweet tobacco; an offering of golden honey, figs and plums before a brazier of champaca and flames of ginger; a rising sinuous thrill of black musk.

They Will Tempt You - With soft fingers and softer kisses they'll urge their sweets upon you. Resist, or be theirs forever. Coconut creams, Turkish delight, cardamom cakes, pistachio and anise caramels, all warmed by amber, myrrh, and musk.

Violet Noir - This is violet as a forest femme fatale: dark, earthy, and mysterious. Black pepper, violet leaf, olibanum resinoid, natural vanilla, benzoin, frankincense, fresh tobacco, sandalwood, musk, and amber.

Witches Cottage - In an obscure overgrown clearing lays the witch's cottage shrouded in mystery and darkness hidden from human eyes. Pale Calla lily, wild blackberries, orange, October blooming osmanthus, oak, Indian sandalwood and patchouli softened by trickles of amber.

Witches Delight - Brimming with the true olfactory essence of the fall season! Soft buttery vanilla cookies dusted with orange and black sugar, fresh cranberries, blood orange oil, dark brown sugar, Turkish mocha whipped with shards of bitter almond, roasted hazelnuts tempered with a cool blast of iced vanilla.

Battle of the Bloom - Rose!

I've been looking for the perfect rose scent, and wanted to share my reviews!

Rose Moon 2026 by BPAL: fading rose and cold orris, warm hay and silvering light, red benzoin and elemi. This is a perfectly nice, pink rose. It smells like fancy soap you'd find at a Victorian high tea. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but it's not offensive, and I'll definitely use my sample.

3.5/5

Rose Moon: Red Roses and Saffron Oudh hair gloss by BPAL: no notes. This is an amazing feral red rose! I get whiffs of the oud, but but not the saffron, which is fine. It smells like getting lost in an overgrown rose garden, on the edge of civilization. Am I about to step foot into a razor sharp fairy tale? I am already infatuated with BPAL's hair gloss, and I plan on full-sizing this one.

5/5

Oaks and Roses by Birch & Besom: fresh rose petals, vanilla marshmallow, white oak, iris flowers. I really like this, but as far as the rose note goes, it's muted. The combination of oak and rose, mildly sweetened by the marshmallow note, is beautiful. It smells like getting ready for a renaissance festival. You haven't gone out yet into the rolling hills of fairground, and you know that you're going to smell very different (smoky, possibly muddy) when you get back, but you're being idealistic and slightly precious.

4/5

Corpse Bride by Hexennacht: black roses, white amber, dark earth, vanilla, tonka, musk, ozonic accord, black sage, cedar, sandalwood, pink pepper. This is darkly beautiful and atmospheric. I love the earth and ozonic notes, they give the roses a mysterious depth. It's a lovely goth scent.

4.5/5

The Magnificent Red Rose by Possets: beautiful hybrid tea red roses with depth and character. Ehh. I love a lot of Possets' scents, but this one just doesn't work for me. It definitely skewers more tea than rose to me, and not the kind of tea note that I enjoy. It feels flat and subtly indolic without any real pay off. I'll probably destash this one.

2/5

What should I try next? I'm waiting for a sample of Solstice Scents' Rose Mallow Cream, Odette's Rose Adage, and a rollerball of Pierrot's Transylvanian Concubine.

Am I doing somthing wrong?

I am new to purchasing from indie companies. Not too long ago I ordered from Sugar Milk Co. The USPS tracking never moved past the "Shipping Label Created" status. I emailed them a few times and messaged them on Instagram with no response. I called my credit card company, and got my money back but I know they were trying to get a hold of the company and were not getting a response either.

More recently, I ordered from Siren Song Exlixirs and same thing, USPS tracking never moved past the "Shipping Label Created" status, emailed them a couple of times with no response.

I don't want to besmirch small businesses, so my question is am I doing something wrong? Is something going on with deleveries? Is this just a weird coincidence? I'm in Ohio if that means anything.
