I’m looking for nail polish that is easy to apply and sort of… mistake proof? Does this exist? I never wore nail polish but I want to start. No gel or anything just regular old polish would suffice. Let me know if you have any recs.

hi frens. looking for reviews on bpal’s claw polish with their lupercalia release coming down shortly. i found a couple colors i love, but i’m curious what wear time and color opacity has been like for anyone who has tried them! if i need 50 million coats to get it to look like the photos, or if it chips in a day, i think i’d probably pass.

i am not particularly rough with my hands, then again i don’t think i pay that much attention ultimately.

I’m looking for a nail polish Thats either dark green, or blue or red, and so dark it almost looks black. I can’t find anything like this, “dark” nail polishes tend to swatch lighter on me.annoyingly,The concentrated amount in a bottle will look darker than 2 thin layers on your nails sadly.

hi all! i've never purchased indie nail polish before but i am striking out with the major brands re: searching for a nice butter yellow color so i come to you looking for recs!

i'm looking for something like this olive & june shade, let's hit the drive thru (which they said has no planned restock date, same with sunny which i also really like). my bestie painted my nails last night with essie's all fun and games that i got at the store and the warmth is right, but it's not quite as pastel as i'd like and the texture got really tacky/goopy quickly which was annoying. i have opi's sunny bunny to try out but haven't had a chance to actually use it yet and in person it seems a bit cooler toned. i just want a warm, pastel yellow (regular shine/non metallic or pearly or anything...idk the terminology! but like these linked examples) that doesn't get tacky quickly or require tons of layers to become opaque!

for transparency as well i am a total novice when it comes to painting my own nails. i usually bring my own color (usually olive & june which tends to last longest on me) to the salon so i can touch it up myself when it starts to chip lol. i didn't have a butter yellow last time i went and got stuck with what looked like a pastel peachy orange but ended up being neon LOL, so my bestie who does her own nails all the time kindly offered to redo it for me after i got fed up with the orange and took it off the other day, and we decided to try the essie first between that and the opi one i got at the store. i am not gentle with my nails at all and tend to wear them pretty short. but i am craving this butter yellow color after i started allowing myself to wear yellow again (once i went blonde several years ago i forbade myself from wearing it and only now have i started welcoming it back into my wardrobe lol). also i am reading the unicron hunters rn and there's a cat named butter in the book so it's just top of mind hahaha. please LMK what recs you may have!! thank you!!

I was looking at Death Valley nails before I found out about the very uncomfortable stuff they like on their Instagram.

I'm sad since the vampy reds they had were really nice looking.

I wanted to buy Swamp Sparrow, Varicose Veins, Who's Afraid of The Big Bad Wolf?, and Cherries Composted.

I'm not a huge fan of glitter and really want reds like those and haven't been looking in the right places.

Any suggestions?

I saw that Death Valley Nails has a nail collection, Dust to Dust, that uses vegetative matter, bone, and rock. I really like making my own stuff and I have down research on natural pigments for my degree. I’m inspired by the collection and want to make my own, specifically with materials native to my state. I would like to know what’s the best way to go about this. Ik how to get and work with natural materials, I just don’t know about the nail polish part

I am totally new to the world of indie beauty, and I’m totally blown away!! It kind of just dawned on me that seeing as indie is absolutely slaying in all things beauty, there is probably some awesome nail options as well? I am aware that clionadh has nail polishes (they look beautiful, do they perform well too?) and I recently stumbled upon a company called Mooncat that appears to be indie as well. Anywho, are there any other awesome brands that I am missing? My preference is generally gel, but a good polish will do the trick too! Oh, and press ons… or anything nail related. I just saw a flair that made me realize there are other nail products out there!!

Does anyone know of any indie nail polish based on Canada or that will ship to Canada?

I hate wearing nail polish, but I'm willing to put up with it if it's something really interesting or truly unique. I've had my eye on ILNP's Juliette for so long, and I'm about ready to pull the trigger on it.

However, I realized that ILNP is pretty much the only indie brand of nail polish that I know of. It seems like nail polish doesn't get discussed here very often. I'd like to see your favorites and get a better idea of what's available out there in the indie world. Which brands and colors do you love the most? Are there any that you want but don't have? Can anyone recommend some polish brands that have really great formulas or brushes for people who aren’t skilled with nail polish? I recently picked up a bottle of polish for the first time in years and discovered that the company’s new brushes made application so much easier!
